MLBPPWORLD FANTASY SEMIFINAL ROUND 1 RECAP

One Man Revolution (GoTwins24) 134.94
iPump Plastic (iPumpPlastic) 91.48

Summary:
One Man Revolution's hot streak continued into the postseason, and they have now scored over 125 in 7 consecutive weeks. Their strength is, by far, their RB position, and this week was no exception. Rachaad White has been one of the best fantasy players in the league this year, and continued his tremendous run of form by scoring 20.5. Kyren Williams was also decent with 12, although he was stopped at the 1, which would have put him closer to 20. Christian McCaffrey started off hot with a 70 yard run, but lost the TD to Jordan Mason and finished with 15. One concern for McCaffrey is Deebo Samuel, who has been receiving some of McCaffrey's opportunities. Even still, McCaffrey has a case for fantasy MVP, and is a consistent threat to score 15+. D.J. Moore was tremendous, scoring 23 on two touchdowns. Moore now has 68 combined points against iPump Plastic in 2023. Dak Prescott has been the team's MVP, as their surge has correlated with Prescott's MVP level of play. Prescott had a bit of a drop-off, but was still phenomenal. The only real letdowns were Miami's defense and De'Von Achane, who combined for just under 20, which is decent, but One Man Revolution wanted to add more to their existing lead. As it stands, 43 points is a major lead, but the team has lost two big first round leads in the past (2017 and 2022). They will look to finish things off next week and advance to the championship for the fourth time in league history. It was a brutal first round for iPump Plastic, as it was the worst performance from the Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, and Tyreek Hill trio this season. Hurts and Brown combined for just over 20 points as they were shut down by Dallas' defense. Each of them fumbled, which made things considerably worse. Hurts has not scored under 15 since Week 1, but picked the worst week to struggle. Then, Tyreek Hill suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter of Monday night's game on a questionable tackle. He returned and had some impact, but still finished with his worst output of the season. This seems like it will affect Hill for the rest of the season, so it is something for iPump Plastic to monitor. Their RB situation slightly improved with the signing of Jerick McKinnon, who scored 11 for them. However, Isiah Pacheco will probably return soon, so this was more of a one-time patch. TE is generally a weak spot, but Chig Okonkwo was solid with 7. Next week, they will need to be at their absolute best to pull off a stunning comeback, as they need to outscore One Man Revolution by over 43.

Team Griffith (jag123jg) 148.22
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 124.44

Summary:
After a miserable start, it has been a remarkable season for the defending champion. They had to claw back into the playoffs on the final day, but now that they are in, they look like a force to be reckoned with. Josh Allen has been their anchor all season, and he performed well against a tough KC defense to score 20. Aside from Allen, Breece Hall, Cooper Kupp, and DeAndre Hopkins were the standouts. It was a rough stretch for Kupp, and Team Griffith considered benching him until the injury to Jonathan Taylor forced him to start him. Kupp rewarded Team Griffith with 20 points this week. On a similar note to the Taylor injury, Chuba Hubbard has emerged as a reliable option in recent weeks. This week, he scored a solid 10 points, and looks to have taken control of Carolina's backfield. Team Griffith would have gotten close to 160 had Justin Jefferson not been injured. Fortunately, Jefferson may not miss time, but his value may take a hit with Minnesota's QB struggles. DeAndre Hopkins was a key part of Team Griffith's 2022 championship, and he played another key role in the first round of the semifinal with over 20. But their special teams were the unsung heroes, as Cleveland's defense and Brandon Aubrey combined for a key 37 points: 16 more than the Atomic Pickles' special teams. A 23-point lead is significant, but not necessarily comfortable. Even still, Team Griffith are in a great position to return to the championship game. The Atomic Pickles have to be frustrated to be facing a 20+ point hole, and will hope to avoid falling victim to the #1 seed curse. CJ Stroud's injury devastated them this week, as Stroud only scored 3. Stroud may return soon, but there are questions about his performance after some recent struggles. Aside from Stroud, it was a remarkably consistent output, as literally every position player scored between 11 and 15 points. Travis Kelce improved after some struggles, which is a good sign for the Pickles, and Rashee Rice has emerged as Mahomes' number 1 WR option. Travis Etienne also positively regressed after some poor performances. Younghoe Koo's surprisingly bad game was actually a key part of their deficit, as he was outscored by 18 points by his counterpart kicker. Now, the Pickles will have to hope Stroud returns to health in order to complete a comeback and avoid the #1 seed curse.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
Mahomes on the Range (Lancer) 107.94
Jahmyr Gibbs' Positional Value (Dishnet34) 101.02

Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 75.1
Wesley All Stars (Wesley) 72.04

Quattrocento Desperados (BaseballTeen9500) 120.86
Calvin n The Chipmunks (PhilliesFan134) 113.42

Teiyo Tomozawas (MUFFINZ) 80.84
North Pole Narwhals (AnthonyP) 108.2

Best of luck to the teams still alive in the semifinal!

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY SEMIFINAL ROUND 2 RECAP

One Man Revolution (GoTwins24) 285.7 (150.76)
iPump Plastic (iPumpPlastic) 171.3 (79.82)

Summary:
It has been a dream run of form for One Man Revolution, as they continued their hot streak by socring over 150 this week. Christian McCaffrey was not the consensus choice at #1, but he has rewarded One Man Revolution this season. This week, he scored 39. One Man Revolution boasts the best RB trio in the league, as Kyren Williams and Rachaad White also scored over 20. They also had James Cook on their bench, who scored 35. Cook will replace a struggling De'Von Achane next week, which means One Man Revolution may have four of the top five ranked RBs in their starting lineup. Miami's defense has been a strong streaming play for multiple weeks, and they scored over 20 once again. With difficult matchups incoming, Miami will likely be dropped, but they were invaluable to the team's run. WR is still a weakness for them, especially with Chris Olave's injury, as Adam Thielen has been bad since the middle of the season. However, Tee Higgins had his best performance of 2023 with an incredible touchdown, and may be a solid option in case Olave misses more time. Dak Prescott was terrible this week, ending his MVP-caliber run, so One Man Revolution will hope he rebounds in the title game. With the dominant win, One Man Revolution returns to the title game for the first time since their 2019 championship, which has them buzzing. It was a semifinal to forget for iPump Plastic, who did not stand much of a chance once Tyreek Hill was ruled out with an injury. In Hill's absence, Amari Cooper was a good fill-in, scoring 18, but no one else performed well. Brandin Cooks and Tyler Lockett were nowhere to be found, and AJ Brown ghosted in the playoffs after a great regular season. But iPump Plastic's RB issues were what sunk them, as Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman combined for just 5, which capped iPump Plastic's chance at a comeback. It has been a rough year for RBs overall with injuries and poor performances, but this matchup showed that it is still important to have a solid RB core.

Team Griffith (jag123jg) 252.78 (104.56)
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 235.12 (110.68)

Summary:
The defending champion will have the chance to become the league's first back-to-back winner, which is stunning after their 0-4 start. This week, they dropped off a bit after the first round, but they built enough cushion to survive this. Recently, Cooper Kupp has been emerging as an MVP for the team, and he surpassed the 20-point mark with a big touchdown catch. Josh Allen was also solid despite a run-heavy gamescript, scoring 16. Justin Jefferson, Chuba Hubbard, and Mike Evans scored just under 15, which was good enough for Team Griffith. However, they will probably need each of them to score more. Darren Waller returned to the lineup this week and scored 6. This was okay, but if Waller can perform well, Team Griffith's lineup will be even scarier in the championship. Breece Hall has been highly inconsistent in 2023, and was the bad version of himself this week, scoring just 2. But Jonathan Taylor should be able to return next week, so Hall may slide to the bench. DeAndre Hopkins was also a letdown compared to the first round, but he is always a deep-ball threat for defenses to worry about. Team Griffith is definitely one of the best two rosters in the league, and they will now have the chance to compete for a championship with their upset win. The Atomic Pickles' season came to an end in disappointing fashion, and yet another #1 seed failed to win the league title. Their loss can be alomst entirely attributed to CJ Stroud's head injury, as had Stroud remained healthy, the Pickles very likely would have scored 17+ more points. Additionally, Dallas's struggles against Buffalo significantly hurt them, as Tony Pollard and CeeDee Lamb combined for just 21 points. Travis Kelce was also brutal, scoring just 5 points, and Courtland Sutton also scored under 10. Jahmyr Gibbs and Rashee Rice did all they could to save the Pickles' season, combining for over 40, but it was not enough. Ultimately, the game came down to Travis Etienne. If Etienne scored over 25, which he did on multiple occassions earlier in the year, his team would have won. But Etienne underwhelmed with just 7 points. Now, the Pickles turn to 2024 to look for their second league title.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
Mahomes on the Range (Lancer) 175.7
Jahmyr Gibbs' Positional Value (Dishnet34) 220.2

Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 158.54
Wesley All Stars (Wesley) 193.38

Quattrocento Desperados (Baseballteen9500) 248.68
Calvin n the Chipmunks (PhilliesFan134) 224.86

Teiyo Tomozawas (MUFFINZ) 147.58
North Pole Narwhals (AnthonyP) 222.66

Best of luck to the remaining teams!

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1 RECAP

One Man Revolution (GoTwins24) 117.42
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 170.78

Summary:
Team Griffith is poised to make league history by becoming the first ever repeat-champion. It was a stunningly dominant performance, as the team was firing on all cylinders, which gave them a major 53-point cushion for the second round. It was a bit of a tough start, as Cooper Kupp scored just 7, but Kupp ended up being the only position player to score single digits. Josh Allen was strong Saturday, scoring 25. But once Sunday came, Team Griffith entered another level. Breece Hall became a Team Griffith legend by scoring 37 against Washington, and Justin Jefferson scored 23 despite a slow start. Jonathan Taylor and Chuba Hubbard were solid, each scoring just over 10, which was enough given other performances. But in the afternoon, Team Griffith padded their lead, as Mike Evans scored 24. Cole Kmet was on pace for a 20+ point game, but he suffered an injury that forced him to leave the game. Kmet is questionable for the second round, but Team Griffith built a cushion that should reduce the impact of Kmet potentially missing. After an 0-4 start, Team Griffith are now heavily favored to win their second-straight title, and 110-120 points in the next round should be enough to seal it. For One Man Revolution, it was a disaster of a week. It started off well with Chris Olave and Kyren Williams each scoring over 15, but it was downhill from there. James Cook, despite a plus matchup, scored just 5 points thanks to a key fumble. Sunday's results were not much better, as DJ Moore scored just 3 due to an injury, and Jake Ferguson scored just 6. Dak Prescott was a bit worse than usual, scoring only 18. Christian McCaffrey was the team's best performer, scoring 22, but it was not enough to prevent a brutal deficit. They also struggled without Miami's defense, who had been raising their floor with consistent double-digit showings against bad teams. Now, One Man Revolution will need tthe greatest comeback in league history to win the title.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
iPump Plastic (iPumpPlastic) 138.74
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 95.9

Wesley All Stars (Wesley) 106.42
Jahmyr Gibbs' Positional Value (Dishnet34) 59.9

Quattrocento Desperados (Baseballteen9500) 93.92
Mahomes on the Range (Lancer) 101.1

North Pole Narwhals (AnthonyP) 84.2
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 93.4

Teiyo Tomozawas (MUFFINZ) 126.08
Calvin n The Chipmunks (PhilliesFan134) 129

Best of luck to the remaining teams in the final week of the season!

TEAM GRIFFITH WINS SECOND CONSECUTIVE FANTASY TITLE WITH AN IMPRESSIVE 299.64-246.22 VICTORY

Summary:
After starting 0-4, it looked like Team Griffith was not going to have a chance to repeat as champion. But following this brutal start, they won 7 of their last 9 and snuck into the playoffs in the final week. Then, in the semifinals, they upset the 10-win Atomic Pickles, and have now defeated One Man Revolution to become fantasy champions. Thanks to their 170-point showing last week, they just needed an average performance to hold on this week, and they performed strongly. They got off to a great start Thursday, with Breece Hall and Cleveland's defense combining for 39 points. Breece Hall was the MVP of the championship, as he scored a remarkable 60 points across both rounds. On Sunday, Josh Allen struggled through the air, but made up for it on the ground with two rushing touchdowns. Jonathan Taylor was also strong, scoring 16 points thanks to an early rushing touchdown. Zamir White was a solid pickup, scoring 13 in Josh Jacobs' absence. Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Justin Jefferson, and Cole Kmet cooled down after last week, but their performances in the first round were more than enough to put Team Griffith in position to win the championship. This year, Team Griffith's strategy was to be patient and wait out injuries to Cooper Kupp, Jonathan Taylor, and Justin Jefferson, and this strategy paid off in the long run. They will now look for a three-peat dynasty in 2024. For One Man Revolution, it was a disappointing end to the season. They needed an otherwordly performance to even stand a chance at winning, but they could not deliver it. Jake Ferguson and Dak Prescott cooled down in the championship rounds, and scored only 25 combined points in the second round. Kyren Williams did all he could to be a league-winner, scoring 30. DJ Moore was also fantastic with 26 after a poor first round. However, Christian McCaffrey was injured early against a weak Commanders' run defense, ending his incredible season early. Rachaad White, Chris Olave, and James Cook were horrific when it mattered most, each scoring only a handful of points. One Man Revolution went on an incredible run after starting 0-3, but it fell short in the title game.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
iPump Plastic (iPumpPlastic) 247.02
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 199.72

Wesley All Stars (Wesley) 188.28
Jahmyr Gibbs' Positional Value (Dishnet34) 132.1

Quattrocento Desperados (Baseballteen9500) 170.18
Mahomes on the Range (Lancer) 213.8

North Pole Narwhals (AnthonyP) 188.98
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 187.28

Teiyo Tomazawas (MUFFINZ) 277.22
Calvin n the Chipmunks (PhilliesFan134) 253.52

Final Standings:
1. Team Griffith
2. One Man Revolution
3. iPump Plastic
4. Atomic Pickles
5. Wesley All Stars
6. Jahmyr Gibbs' Positional Value
7. Mahomes on the Range
8. Quattrocento Desperados
9. North Pole Narwhals
10. Detroit Phantoms
11. Teiyo Tomozawas
12. Calvin n the Chipmunks

Thank you everyone for a fun, active season, and best of luck in 2024!
