MLBPPWorld Fantasy League Week One Recap

Jakku Scavengers (GoTwins24) 91.5
You've Been Juiced! (LGM) 76

Summary
LGM received a solid performance from numerous key starters, but poor outings from Rob Gronkowski, Brandon Marshall, and Brandon Coleman prevented him from taking the season opening victory. GoTwins survived benching both Tarik Cohen and Stefon Diggs, who combined for 44 points.

Insert NFL Pun Here (Queso James) 104
Team Griffith (Jag123jg) 73.5

Summary
The Rams defense carried "Insert NFL Pun Here" with their absolute demolition of the Colts, raking up 31 points, the second highest defensive total of the week. Solid performances from Jordan Howard, Terrance West, and Golden Tate solidified Queso's Week 1 win. Jag received solid performances from Mason Crosby and the Panthers defense, but was hurt by the disappearances of three backs: Adrian Peterson, Eddie Lacy, and Le'Veon Bell.

Tom Brady's PSI-duck (Dishnet34) 102
Detroit Phantoms (Dtigers) 89.5

Summary
It was an excellent Thursday night for Tom Brady's PSI-duck, as Dish received excellent performances from Tyreek Hill and Mike Gillislee, as well as decent showings from Tom Brady and Danny Amendola. DTigers benefited from the Week 1 defensive explosion, receiving 20 points from Pittsburgh's defensive unit. However, no other player delivered a large point total; Graham Gano was the Phantoms' leading individual scorer with a pedestrian 11 points.

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 62
Los Angeles Aodgers (KFPC) 112

Summary
Week 1's biggest blowout. Matt Ryan and Amari Cooper were the only Pickles players to record double-digit point totals. Agent was one of the few who did not benefit from above average production at the K/DEF positions this week, scoring only 4 points. KFPC received a solid performance from nearly every single player. His lowest scoring positions were K/DEF, who still scored 8 points each. Austin Hooper may just have been the steal of the week, as the late rounder was left all alone by the Bears defense for two big plays.

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 117.5
TD Gobblers (BrewersFuzz) 121

Summary
The heartbreaker of the week. ZeroGibson had the top performer of the week, breakout rookie Kareem Hunt, who provided 41.5 points. However, BrewersFuzz had the highest scoring defense, receiving 32 points from the Jaguars D. Zero was done in by Tyler Eifert's poor showing. If he would have scored just 5 points, Zero would have pulled off the close win. Ultimately, both teams have reasons for optimism heading forward.

Nick N00ns (PhilliesFan134) 85
The 2016-2017 Champ (Prediction) 52

Summary
It was a start to forget for last year's champion, as he recorded only 52 points. Andy Dalton's horrific outing accounts for this performance, as the red-haired QB lost Prediction 4 points, the worst outing of the week. The Patriots defense hurt the defending champion as well, losing him 3 points. Respectable outings from these positions may have made this a closer match. Meanwhile, Phillies received solid outings from all of his running backs, and got the W despite the smallest point total from a winning team.

Imagine getting beat by 50, losing your top player and a key bench player to injured reserve, and still not being last in Power Rankings

MLBPPWORLD Fantasy Week Two Recap

[Insert NFL pun here] (Queso James) 72.5
Jakku Scavengers (GoTwins24) 102.5

Summary
[Insert NFL pun here] fell to 1-1 on the season after being hindered by Jordan Howard's zero-point outing. Queso's highest scorer was QB Russell Wilson, who recorded 14 points. The Scavengers received excellent performances from their pass catchers: Emmanuel Sanders, Zach Ertz, and Alshon Jeffery. A late decision to start Sanders (21 pts) over Stefon Diggs (2 pts) resulted in a more one-sided score.

You've Been Juiced! (LGM) 114
Tom Brady's PSI-duck (Dishnet34) 83

Summary
A bounceback game from last year's first place regular season team. CJ Anderson scored 27.5 points (compared to 8.5 in week one) while Rob Gronkowski bounced back from a mediocre Week 1 by scoring 20 points. Derek Carr helped LGM as well by tearing apart the Jets defense for 21 points. Despite receving 29 points from Tom Brady, Dish's team was hurt by injuries to Corey Davis and Greg Olsen. Full games from the pair may have lead to a closer game.

Team Griffith (Jag123jg) 95
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers) 98.5

Summary
This week's closest matchup. Jag received solid performances from all of his starters except Kerywnn Williams and Corey Coleman, who departed the game due to injury. Le'Veon Bell had a decent response to his limited Week 1 outing, recording 10 points. However, solid performances weren't enough for Jag as DTigers pulled off the close win. Travis Kelce was this week's top TE, scoring 20 points, and Mike Evans recorded 18.5 points to lead Dtigers to the win.

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 117
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 73

Summary
Cool Brees rebounded wonderfully from a heartbreaking Week 1 loss, scoring the exact same amount of points, but this time winning by 44 points. Zero's top-3 (QB-RB1-RB2) of Drew Brees, Devonta Freeman, and Kareem Hunt all recorded over 20 points. Zero definitely has reasons to be excited for the upcoming year, as his team has had an exactly consistent first two weeks. Injuries appear to be getting the best of the Atomic Pickles, who were led to a mere 73 points by Matt Ryan, who scored the highest amount with 14. Luckily for Agent, there is still plenty of time left in the season.

Los Angeles Aodgers (KFPC) 114
Nick N00ns (PhilliesFan134) 100

Summary
KFPC had another excellent week, this time being led by this weeks joint-highest scorer, Michael Crabtree, who caught 3 touchdowns. Todd Gurley also looked like the 2015 version of himself, recording 23.5 points. Austin Hooper, last week's sleeper, only scored 1 point against Green Bay. Despite this KFPC had another high scoring week. Phillies' Week 1 luck ran out as he went from the lowest scoring winner in Week 1 to the highest scoring loser in Week 2. The Broncos defense helped KFPC in multiple ways by scoring 17 points and shutting down Ezekiel Elliot, who only scored 3 points. Despite the loss, Phillies can keep his head up.

TD Gobblers (BrewersFuzz) 85.5
The 2016-17 Champ (Prediction) 77.5

Summary
BrewersFuzz improved to 2-0 thanks to 25 points from Ty Montgomery, who is looking like a major steal so far. He survived a Jordy Nelson injury, as well as losing a point from the Jaguars defense (who scored 32.5 points in his Week 1 Upset). Last year's champion only received double digit scores from one of his position players, QB Alex Smith and WR Deandre Hopkins. Lesean McCoy's poor showing prevented the champ from grabbing his first win of the year.
