9 fantasy points.

I'd use you as a tight end for my fantasy team.

15 on the season now.

Good game without the 2 drops. :(

The way the game counts them is really bad; if the drop is a result of a massive hit as the ball arrives it still counts. I might stop keeping track of them.

Dat red zone threat.

Regular Season, Week Three
September 22nd, 2013

New York Giants (1-1) vs. Carolina Panthers (0-2)

We came out in our third game of the year still looking for our first win, this time squaring off against the 1-1 New York Giants, who won the coin toss and elected to receive. The defense forced a three and out, and Graham Gano kicked a 54-yard field goal on our first possession, on which I had one catch for five yards. After the defense stopped the Giants once again, we scored on a 20-yard run from Jonathan Stewart, giving us an early 10-0 lead.

Eli Manning threw an interception right at the beginning of the 2nd quarter, and it took us only three plays to score from about 20 yards out. I stayed on the sideline for most of the rest of the quarter, and we entered halftime with a 17-6 lead.

A kick return touchdown and defensive touchdown in the 3rd quarter extended our lead to 31-6, and after another Eli Manning interception, a touchdown pass to Greg Olsen gave us a 38-6 lead. With the game all but over at that point, there was very little passing left to be done, and, well, let's just say this one got a bit out of hand.

Final Score
Giants - 13
Panthers - 52

Game Stats
1 rec, 6 yards

2013 Stats
5 rec, 41 yards, 2 TD, 2 drops

Thank goodness I'm not the only one automatically converts football stats to fantasy points.

Regular Season, Week Five
October 6th, 2013

Carolina Panthers (1-2) vs. Arizona Cardinals (1-3)

Following a week 4 bye that felt like several months, we traveled to Arizona to face off against the Cardinals.

The Cardinals won the opening toss and elected to receive, but Bart Scott raced down the field and stripped the ball from the grip of Arizona return man Patrick Peterson. Jordan Senn fell on the ball, and with just four seconds off the clock, we were on the opponent's 23-yard line in position to score.

Despite having been on the kick team, Ron Rivera called my number - we started the game in a two tight end singleback formation. A read option resulted in an 12-yard DeAngelo Williams carry on the first play, and Cam Newton then quickly hit Steve Smith on a slant for a 11-yard touchdown. After 45 seconds of play, we had a 7-0 lead.

After the Cardinals marched down the field and picked up a field goal, Rivera called my number again, electing to roll with the two-TE sets that were becoming a staple of our offense. I wasn't involved on that possession, but after both teams were forced to punt, I came into the game and made a 12-yard catch on a drag route, allowing us to convert a 3rd & 5.

I was targeted for a second time in the next quarter, but Newton way overthrew me, nearly resulting in an interception.

We found ourselves knocking on the door once again thanks to our defense near the end of the first half, following a Charles Godfrey interception of Carson Palmer. After DeAngelo Williams was hit in the backfield for a 1-yard loss, Cam Newton powered through a defender and into the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown on a read option. The Cardinals answered back, however, and we went into halftime with a narrow 14-10 lead.

For the third time in the game, a Cardinals turnover (this time a Rashard Mendenhall fumble) gave us field position deep into Arizona territory, this time starting our drive on the opposing 7-yard line. On the first play of that drive, Cam Newton found Greg Olsen for a touchdown, giving us a 21-10 lead.

The next time I found myself on the field was in the 4th quarter on a 3rd and 10; I nearly made a terrific sideline catch*, but I was hit hard coming down and couldn't hold on.

The Cardinals were able to get within 3 after a touchdown and two-point conversion, so when we got the ball with 6:25 to play, the pressure was on. I was sidelined for the entire drive, but when it ended in a 1-yard Steve Smith touchdown catch, I was as happy as if it had been me out there.

From that point forward, I was on the field for a few more running plays and an onside kick recover, but we never let the Cardinals get close to tying it up or taking the lead.

Final Score
Panthers - 31
Cardinals - 25

Game Stats
1 rec, 12 yards, 1 drop

2013 Stats
6 rec, 53 yards, 2 TD, 3 drops
