Why not just copy it, then edit it in its own post?

Are you saying it's wrong to talk to a bag of Skittles? Because if so, I'm going to need to rethink a lot of things. :P

That's a good question.

Preseason, Week Three
August 22nd, 2013

Carolina Panthers (2-0) vs. Baltimore Ravens (1-1)

Once again, I didn't do much of anything with the first stringers; however, I had a huge 2nd quarter, catching 6 passes for 96 yards, including a 8-yard touchdown with 2:18 left in the half. In the second half, I caught two more passes for another 24 yards, scoring on a 5-yard pass on the first play of the 4th quarter (though that would be my last catch). A great day receiving, but I still need to improve my run blocking.

Final Score
Panthers - 26
Ravens - 20

Game Stats
8 rec, 110 yards, 2 TD, 2 drops

Preseason stats
17 rec, 231 yards, 3 TD, 4 drops

August 26th, 2013

"What about Rheinhold?"

It was August 26th, the day before the end of days. On the 27th, the lives of at least 15 young men would come crashing down. Not a moment of relaxation would be had that day, and not a wink of sleep would be had that night. It was 7:45, and the sun was just beginning to set over Spartanburg, South Carolina. A group of men gathered around a large table. They settled in for a long night, as the men whose fates they would be determining did the same. August 26th drew its true significance from the day which followed it: August 27th.

Also known as cut day.

The man who had posed the earlier question was the leader of the group. He sat at the head of the table, wearing glasses and a collared blue shirt. The other men looked at one another, none of them seeming to want to speak first. Finally, one did.

"I think he's a keeper. At least for now."

Another piped in.

"I agree, he's way ahead of what we expected out of him."

Conversation began to pick up.

"His blocking needs work."
"It doesn't just need work, it's downright awful."
"And it's not like he's playing incredibly well from a receiving standpoint. He's dropped at least four passes already. The only reason he's been producing is because Derek Anderson checks down to his tight ends on every other play."
"Still, he has to be getting open if he's made 17 catches in 5 games. I like what I've seen out of him as a route runner."
"Running routes doesn't mean anything if you're dropping all your targets."
"He's a 22-year old rookie. A 6th round pick, at that. I'm sure that problem will resolve itself as he becomes more comfortable in the NFL. Did you ever once see him play at Georgia? He was a dominant red zone target and has great hands. Can't fault a rookie for nerves."
"I can, and I will. If he can't handle the heat he should get out of the kitchen."
"I can't say for sure what it is, but I like him. He's a good kid and works hard."
"'Liking him' is hardly a reason to give him a roster spot."

There was a moment of silence.

"Can we all agree that he's at least in the top four of the six tight ends at camp?"

No one spoke.

"And can we all agree that it's ridiculous to cut our roster down to any less than four this early?"

Again, silence.

"Then I think we have a consensus."

The group turned to the man at the head of the table, who had remained quiet. He nodded.

"What about King?"

Hey, looking good as always, detroittigers! Despite my complete lack of knowledge about football, I'll see if I can follow along, haha.

Preseason, Week Four
August 29th, 2013

Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) vs. Carolina Panthers (3-0)

I caught my first pass of the day at around the same time as last game, with about 4 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. It wasn't anything special, just a 5-yard checkdown on which I was hit immediately. I made another catch with about 0:45 seconds left, on an in. It went for 9 yards and I was shaken up on what was a monstrous hit, though I stayed in the game once I caught my breath.

Midway through the third quarter, with the score at 13-9 and us at the 2-yard line on 4th down, I lined up in the backfield and when towards the sideline on a flat. Derek Anderson rifled the ball to me, and I caught it and practically walked into the end zone for my fourth touchdown of the preseason. I ended up making two more big catches that both went for first downs, bringing my yardage total up to 79, a solid way to finish the preseason if I do say so myself. I also blocked reasonably well and only dropped one pass this time.

We ultimately won the game, but I'd be lying if I said I or any of my teammates truly cared about going 4-0. We're all just excited to start the regular season. Well, the 53 of us that'll still be here when that time comes...

Final Score
Steelers - 13
Panthers - 23

Game Stats
6 rec, 79 yards, 1 TD, 1 drop

Preseason stats
23 rec, 310 yards, 4 TD, 5 drops

Yep, training camp starts with 90, then it's cut to 75, then down to 53.
