So I've been playing some Madden '09 recently, and I made a season mode for the Jaguars. I skipped the first season, 2008, in which I went 8-8 and missed the playoffs, because I kind of wanted to revamp my roster and trade away problem players (Matt Jones). This is the Depth Chart:

Offense
QB:
1. David Garrard (92 OVR)
2. Rob Jones (78 OVR) Note: 3rd Round Pick out of Oregon, notable attributes are 94 throw power and 77 accuracy.
HB:
1. Maurice Jones-Drew (93 OVR)
2. Fred Taylor (89 OVR)
3. Chauncey Washington (76 OVR)

FB:
1. Greg Jones (91 OVR)
2. Fred Robinson (78 OVR)
Note: 6th Round Pick out of Clemson

WR:
1. Reggie Williams (85 OVR)
2. Chris Field (81 OVR) Note: 1st Round Pick out of UCF, has 95 speed and 93 Jumping ability
3. John Broussard (78 OVR)
4. Samie Parker (75 OVR)
5. Mike Thomas (73 OVR)

TE:
1. Marcedes Lewis (83 OVR)
2. George Wrightster (76 OVR)
3. Anthony Abbott (67 OVR)
Note: 7th Round Pick out of Florida, solid blocker

LT:
Khalif Barnes (90 OVR)

LG:
Vince Manuwai (93 OVR)

C:
Brad Meester (94 OVR)

RG:
Maurice Williams (90 OVR)

RT:
Tony Pashos (86 OVR)

Those guys have backups, but I forgot who (doesn't matter)

Defense:
RE:
1. John Abraham (95 OVR) Note: Biggest Free Agent Signing, 5 years 41 million I think
2. Derrick Harvey (80 OVR)

DT:
1. John Henderson (96 OVR)
2. Rob Meier (86 OVR)

3. Al Bird (81 OVR) Note: 2nd Round Pick out of Ohio State, 99(!) Stength
4. Derek Landri (76 OVR)

LE:
1. Paul Spicer (87 OVR)
2. Brent Hawkins (75 OVR)

ROLB:
1. Daryl Smith (91 OVR)
2. Bobby Carpenter (78 OVR)

MLB:
1. Mike Peterson (94 OVR)
Buster Davis (76 OVR)

LOLB:
1. Justin Durant (85 OVR)
2. Clint Ingram (81 OVR)
3. Marc Blount (76 OVR)
Note: 4th Round Pick out of Stanford, backup to all of the linebacker positions

CB:
1. Rashean Mathis (97 OVR)
2. Brian Williams (87 OVR)
3. Chris Carr (76 OVR)
4 . Jason Craft (74 OVR)

FS:
1. Reggie Nelson (93 OVR)

SS:
1. Kennoy Kennedy (80 OVR) Note: Free Agent Signing
2. Joe Smelley (75 OVR) Note: 5th Round Pick out of Oregon, 6'3'', 231 pounds

K:
1. Josh Scobee (84 OVR)

P:
1. Carlton Morales (82 OVR) Note: 4th Round Pick out of UCLA, took with the selection I received for Matt "Coke Zero" Jones

Agents are allowed, you can have two each, and sorry for the bad title, lol

Ah, I loved Madden '09. I don't think one has topped it since, lot of nostalgia.

In that case, I'll be following.

Week 1 Opponent: New York Jets:

The Jets are a mess to say the least right now. After a promising 2006 campaign in which they made the playoffs with a 10-6 record, the team has had two extremely dismal seasons back-to-back. Their offense is a mess. They tried to fix that somewhat by drafting a QB, Tommy Rasby, out of Syracuse with the third pick, as well as their second-rounder on a halfback, but there is no way a team can find success when the core of their offense is made up of rookies. They do have a couple of nice receivers in Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery, and the left side of their offensive line (D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Alan Faneca, and Nick Mangold) should be able to shutdown strong pass-rushers John Abraham and Rob Meier. John Henderson should have a solid day stopping the run however. Their defense is as poor as the offense. They absolutely offer nothing in terms of a pass rush, as Kris Jenkins is mainly only used to stop the run nowadays. Their linebacking corps is weak, and the secondary isn't very good, despite Darrelle Revis and Kerry Rhodes being high-quality players. Greg Burns is an awful starter.

Bottom Line: The Jaguars should easily defeat the lowly Jets

Summary-- The Jaguars easily defeated the lowly Jets today in a huge blowout. On the offensive side of the ball, David Garrard easily picked apart the Jets secondary, hitting several different receivers all day long. Maurice Jones-Drew carried a hefty load (39 attempts!), and averaged 5 yards a carry, and Fred Taylor busted off a huge touchdown run. Chris Field had a very good debut, easily beating Greg Burns several times, and catching a touchdown pass. John Broussard suffered a pinched nerve on the first drive of the game, but he should be fine for next week. The offensive line played extremely well for the most part, although Tony Pashos struggled somewhat containing Alex Brown on the edge. On the other side of the ball, the defense was great too. John Abraham and Paul Spicer both got sacks, and John Henderson was a monster in stopping the run. The linebacking corps was great as usual, with Mike Peterson notching the most tackles. The secondary was good for the most part, although Kenoy Kennedy was a weak link trying to cover Laveraneaus Coles in the zone cover scheme the Jaguars deploy, and his speed and burst seemed poor. Brian Williams was a huge brightspot, surprisingly shutting down Jericho Cotchery.

Game ball: David Garrard got the Jaguars going, picking apart the Jets secondary en route to a win.
