Big news out of Oakland as a business man known only as Braun, has purchased full control of the Raiders. when asked about his reasoning for buying the team he stated "ive always been interested in football and creating a successful sports franchise." Braun also said "theres a lot of potential here in this organization and im going to step in and do my best to make a franchise that history will remember." When asked about the current General Manager situation, Braun said "although there are probably many good candidates out there for the job, i trust and believe that i can build a consistent playoff contender and championship winning team." Braun also joked saying "it also saves me money if i dont hire someone."

news from Oakland. when Braun was asked about his plans for young QB Jamarcus Russell this morning, he replied with "i understand many people believe he wont turn out. the thing is hes only played one season so far. it wasnt a great season but theres no sense in calling it quits on him. hes still fresh out of college and our salary cap situation isnt good so expect some trades during the preseason"

Rumors are confirmed today about a huge trade sending Nnamdi Asomugha to the falcons for a first and third round pick in this years upcoming draft. Asomugha, easily the best player on the Raiders, is being shipped out along with his 9.5 million dollar contract for some much needed cap space. when asked about the move Braun stated "He's a fantastic young player and i wish him the best in Atlanta, but his price was too much for my blood, especially considering the team's financial situation." The former Raider was the second highest payed Cornerback next to Champ Bailey and 12th highest payed player in the NFL.

The Raiders have also decided to move Justin Griffith (28 year old Fullback 88OVR) and Robert Gallery (28 year old Left Guard 84OVR) as well as a fourth round draft pick in order to receive Junius Coston (24 year old Left Guard 85OVR) from the Packers. The Raiders also obtain Orrin Thompson in order to keep Green Bay's roster at the 55 player maximum. Gallery carries a 8.57 Million dollar contract and is the second of two large contracts moved out of Oakland by Braun this week.

Oakland defeated San Francisco in week one of the preseason 27-20. Russell threw 10 completions of 14 attempts for 197 yards and a touchdown. McFadden rushed 12 attempts for 54 yards and fumbling once, also catching 2 for 33 yards. Justin Fargas also rushed the ball 12 times but only for 38 yards. he did however rush for one touchdown. Javon Walker caught 5 passes racking up 109 yards while Higgins caught 4 for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns. Zack Miller caught 3 for 26 yards. Another notable mention is Sebastian Janikowski missing a Extra point attempt.

The Oakland Raiders announced today that they have agreed to a 2 year term with Shane Olivea. The 26 year old Right Tight will shift to Left Tight for this season, replacing the recently released Kwame Harris. Braun stated "Olivea is a decent young player with some room to grow and improve, and thats what were looking for." Braun also said the addition of the 6'3 312 pound linesman will "add some needed strength and depth to the O-line." The Raiders have also signed Defensive Tight Sam Rayburn to a 1 year contract worth 2.06 million. This coming after the release of Gerard Warren. The former Oakland Defensive Tight will leave a 1.56 million dollar penalty on the Raiders salary cap next year. Braun told the press that "Warren wasnt worth his 5.68 million dollar contract." Braun now has 28 million dollars in cap space to work with.

Game 2 of Oakland's Preseason has resulted in a 28-19 loss at the hands of the Titans. Jamarcus Russell Left the game after sustaining a broken toe, but is expected to be sidelined for only a week. Russell had one pass attempt uncompleted. Andrew Walter threw 16 completions of 29 attempts for 187 yards with 2 TDs and 1 interception. Mcfadden rushed 13 times for 65 yards. Fargas 11 tries for 35 yards. Johnnie Lee Higgins and Ronald Curry both caught 3 balls for 36 yards. Curry caught one for a touchdown.

Oakland add win to their preseason record as they defeat the Cardinals 13-3. Jamarcus Russell was "healthy" completing half of his 14 pass attempts for 92 yards and rushing twice for six yards. meanwhile Andrew Walter completed 13 of 18 for 165 yards and one touchdown. Darren McFadden ran 92 yards on 19 attempts (4.8 average) and fumbled once. McFadden also caught 6 balls for 61 yards total. Arman Shields caught the only touchdown of the game.

The Oakland Raiders even out their preseason record to two wins and two losses as they fall 33-28 to the Seattle Seahawks. Russell completed only 4 of 12 attempts for 75 yards, rushing twice for 9 yards, which begs the question, will Jamarcus Russell be starting Oakland's season opener. Russell did however through one TD. Andrew Walter went 12 of 21 for 161 yards and one interception. Justin Fargas ran 9 times for 30 yards. McFadden on the other hand ran 11 attempts 39 yards and a touchdown, making him the favorite to open the regular season as a rookie starter. McFadden also returned 4 kickoffs for 162 yards and one TD, averaging 40.5 yards per kick return. Ricky Brown (the backup MLB) recorded 14 tackles totaling 30 all preseason (5.3 per game).

McFadden carries the Raiders to a 17-7 win at home over the Broncos, with two touchdowns, a fumble, and 138 yards on 21 attempts (6.6 average). McFadden also rushed his first TD 50 yards. Oakland only had three receptions all night on Russell's 8 attempts resulting in 37 yards. Braun said in an interview "thats a pathetic performance by Jamarcus. Do not expect him to start next week. As a team were just lucky that McFadden scored twice." Oren O'Neal suffered a high ankle sprain and is expected to miss one week.

Oakland defeats Kansas City 20-17 on the road, almost blowing a 10 point fourth quarter lead. Janikowski opened the scoring with a 55 yard field goal. Andrew Walter threw 6 completions for 63 yards on 9 attempts, rushing for 15 yards on four rushes. McFadden rushed 110 yards on 24 touches for a TD. on 3 tries Fargas had 19 yards and also a touchdown. O'Neal is questionable for next weeks game and Ronald Curry suffered a pinched nerve and will miss a week.
