Nick Puleo is at the GM helm for the Titans this year, and Jeff Fisher has been retained as head coach. The tandem is looking to bring a brand-new roster and old coaching staff in unison, hopefully reaching the promised land for the Music City. Nice, but you should've picked a better/cooler kicker.

Roster Review

Image

At the #2 spot, Puleo and Fisher had plenty of talent to choose from. They made Pro Bowl defensive end Julius Peppers their first selection.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eli Manning will get the first try at starting quarterback after his term with the Giants. Former Packers first-rounder Aaron Rodgers will be on his heels as the QB of the future. 24 year-old D.J. Shockley has 85 speed and 90 throw power but is a project at best.

A pair of 22 year-olds are battling at the RB position - Lawrence Maroney and Adrian Peterson. They both are power backs but AP has higher expectations as a top draft pick. Maroney has the slight edge at the moment but his performance will weigh heavily into who is next year's starter. Speedy Darren Sproles will serve as the change-of-pace third stringer. Fullback Lawrence Vickers can break tackles (87 BTK, 82 CAR, 82 TGH) and isn't too slow (80 spd).

Steve Smith Sr. is one of three team captains. He is a star player and a go-to receiver with insane acceleration, agility, and catching ability. Behind him are a crop of talented, young wideouts: Braylon Edwards, Greg Jennings, Mike Williams, and kick returner Jacoby Jones. Edwards in particular could surpass him at #1 in the next decade. Colts stalwart Dallas Clark will now be Eli's security blanket. Zach Miller and Delanie Walker are the youngsters who will presumably join in on 2-TE sets.

D'Brickashaw Ferguson is the glue to the line as a strong pass blocker; he'll be protecting Manning's blind side. Joe Staley of the the Browns will be reliable although he's switching from left to right tackle. The 310-pound Sims is above average in both pass (85 PBK) and run block (89 RBK). Spencer is a few pounds lighter and a few points better in those areas (88 PBK/89 RBK). Chris Chester might be the weak link at 75 OVR plus the backups at guard aren't exceptional. Eric Winston is decent help at both OT spots.

Peppers, the man of the hour, is a star player, team captain, and force of nature on the defense. Dumervil is already a good match on the other side and Charles Johnson (21 yr. old) is rising. 6'6, 320 Albert Haynesworth is the most dominant defensive tackle in the league - a monster of a man and a supreme run stuffer. Brodrick Bunkley is 22 and will be right there in the trenches next to Big Al. Soliai, Watson, and Alford are a trio of 23 year-olds for depth.

The electric Merriman hopes to repeat a 17-sack season from 2006; he is a catalyst for the D and an enforcer with speed, strength, and the capability to cover + tackle. Demeco Ryans is just a year into the league and rated 89; he was acquired from the Texans for DT Mike Patterson (85 ovr), MLB D'Qwell Jackson (84), and a 4th round pick. Lawrence Timmons of the Steelers rounds out the linebacker core and he has huge potential. His teammate Lamar Woodley is together with Stephen Tulloch as apt reserves.

Fabian Washington leads the corner crew and he has the speed to keep up with the league's fastest. His support are 22 or younger, notably Richard Marshall and "Revis Island" Darrelle Revis. 99 overall Ed Reed is the final captain, a star player, leader of the defense, the best safety in the NFL, and a hard hitter. Laron Landry is the other half, the strong safety who will be the ballhawk in center field. At his age, he has the tools to be the next Reed. Bernard Pollard and Eric Weddle are next in line in case of an injury.

Suisham and Kluwe are nothing special at kicking but acceptable for now.

2007 Preseason

No news updates yet, maybe next week. We did trade a 4th round pick, DT Mike Patterson, and MLB D'Qwell Jackson for the Texans' MLB Demeco Ryans. Also, OG Jeromey Clary (71) was sent to Miami for a 5th round pick while OG Dan Stevenson (69) and DT Gabe Watson (72) were signed for depth on 1-year deals.

Shaun Suisham connected on a 25-yard field goal for the first points of the preseason. Jay Feely replied with a 35-yd shot in the 2nd quarter. Fullback Lawrence Vickers scored the first touchdown nearly 8 minutes later. Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson traded short TD rushes of less than 5 yards. Feely nailed two straight 43-yarders in the 4th quarter but it wasn't enough to come back. An interception on QB Jon Kitna by Shawne Merriman set up the decisive Peterson touchdown.

thanks, man! didn't think many people would be receptive since it's an old game but I like looking back at the old rosters every once in a while (still have Madden 06 for Wii).

I enjoy the fact that you have both D.J. Shockley and Chris Kluwe on your team.

On a semi-related note, how is that locker room? I feel like there would be a lot of clashing personalities there.

I have a question. How do you get those pictures? Did you upload them to a website and copy and paste the link? Or did you just copy and paste them from google? They're really cool and I'm thinking about using them in my log.

Well thanks, Kluwe was the only punter there and Shockley has something different for a 3rd string QB.

The preseason logos were from sportslogos.net. Don't remember where I got the ones from the preseason schedule but if you change the end of each one (.png) you can usually find every team i.e. gb.png or ne.png.

2007 Preseason: Week 2

Image (1-0) @Image (0-1)

Gillette Stadium

The meeting of the Mannings! Veteran Adam Vinateri hit a 42-yard field goal early in the first. DT Brodrick Bunkley recovered a fumble from Peyton Manning, but we could not score points off the turnover. On a Laurence Maroney run, Joe Staley hurt his bicep and was deemed out for the game. Shaun Suisham missed a FG from long range, and Ashley Lelie hauled in 6-yard TD on New England's next drive. Suisham converted a 31-yarder. Another fumble lost on a Bunkley sack was picked up by DeMeco Ryans for 63 yards, although Suisham shanked a 27-yd FG. Mike Adams intercepted backup Aaron Rodgers, who had a tough few series. QB Craig Nall was downed for a safety by DE Frostee Rucker and we got the ball back. "All-Day" Adrian Peterson exploded for a 64-yard scamper that went in for 6. We cashed in a 26-yard field goal off of a Tim Carter fumble. Fabian Washington picked off Nall, and Rodgers threw a 10-yard TD to Steve Smith.

it was like a month until my last update, I don't think it's a huge difference. I'll get around to it when I can.
