Year four! I'm hoping for a good turnout this year, considering a whopping 8 out of 10 participants from last year are still around. First bowl is December 20th, so that will be the deadline for entering. At the time of writing this, the bowls are still being decided, so tomorrow I'll type up the format and people can start making their picks. Because of the new playoff system, the final bowl won't be decided until the semi's are played on January 1st. There's a couple ways we can handle this. 1. We treat it like a regular bowl, but people have to edit their choices in once the match-up is set 2. People can pick the championship winner right now, and if they're right, they get 2 points for being right. 3. Like #2, people pick the winner now, but we use it as a second tiebreaker. 4. We discard it entirely. I'm in, I voted for choice number 1. AgentP is good at these Pick-Em's(both NFL and the Bowl Edition). |

That requires some luck and knowledge no doubt, but the main factor is simply playing it safe. Picking upsets is fun and keeps these activities interesting, but if your sole purpose is to win, just choosing the favorites is your best bet. |

Suggestion: In my RL friends' picks pool, we're using a point system to gauge who's in the lead. 1 point for being right, no points for being wrong, 2 points for a correct first-round prediction, and 3 for choosing the national champ correctly. This is just my suggestion for how we should do the standings this year, and you don't have to listen to me, just wanted to throw it out there.I won't be mad if we don't do this. |
