Somehow a lot of really good unknown players showed up, and the Packers were able to field a solid squad. The group has a large number of weird dudes though... Anyway, here's the depth chart for this year, as training camp has now concluded.

Green Bay- July 13, 2006: The Green Bay Packers may be in trouble this year. After turning in a disappointing 4-12 season in 2005, reports show that GM Ted Thompson encouraged his players to use illegal substances in order to get better for the 2006 season. In addition to Thompson, the vast majority of Packers players have received a life-time ban from the NFL for this mass cheating scandal. This includes stars like Brett Favre, Ahman Green, Donald Driver, Al Harris, and most of the rest of the roster. A few players, such as starting RT Mark Tauscher, as well as a number of backup players refused to cheat despite Thompson's encouragement, and will remain on the roster. However, almost every other starter was suspended. The Packers acted quickly in hiring a new GM, a strapping young lad by the name of Kilian Boland. Boland has his work cut out for him, and will have to add a player at almost every position before training camp begins in a few weeks. Best of luck to him, but it appears that the Packers may be forced to enter rebuilding mode. |

July 29, 2006: Over 200 players reported to the first day of Packers training camp. These players came from all sorts of leagues, from NFL Europe, fresh out of college, the Canadian Football League, Arena Football League, and a few other oddballs. The hopefuls were broken into groups by their position, and evaluated by coaches during drills, and at the end of the day a 7 on 7 tournament was held. A few players impressed, while a fair share were asked not to come back. We'll keep you in the loop as this process develops, and be the first to report the final roster. |

Incredibly handsome GM Kilian Boland walked into the first team meeting of the new-look Packers with a green and gold box about the size of a toaster, and got everyone's attention. "First, I'd like to congratulate you all on making the team. A lot of people are doubting us this year, but looking around this room, I think we've got a shot at contending for a Division title!" This was met with cheers and whistles by the excited group of players. "Now, I'll get to know you all more in the coming days, but with the pre-season starting soon, we need to decide on our team captains. And since we don't really know any of you guys other than the small sample we saw from training camp, we're having a little contest to be a captain. All you have to do is write down what makes you a good captain, and put it in this box, which will be located outside the door to my office. The coaching staff and I will review the entries we get, and decide on the 3 captains A$AP. Got it?" The team all began to chatter and yell about how they would get it, so Boland assumed all was well and returned back to his office, placing the box on the table outside his door. ATTENTION AGENTS(those who made a player)! PLEASE POST YOUR ANSWER FOR BOTH OF YOUR PLAYERS(unless you only have 1) ALONG WITH THEIR NAME IF YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO BE A CAPTAIN. |
