I'm impressed at how close you keep the scoring, I wanted to do a Backyard Football 2002 log but it'd be impossible because it's just too easy. I tried picking a bad team and could still win 50-0 every game. :(

I pick a slow team, don't use broken plays that always have guys open, don't use power ups, don't blitz more than two players at most, and often let the CPU control defense. It keeps things close. I had a 9-5 team with a first round playoff exit once with this method.

Also, I've played a few more games than I've posted, and Angela is getting too many points from kicking, so I'm not going to count points for that anymore.
