You must be a Weird Al fan. I prefer The Night Santa Went Crazy.

@Prediction I was referring to Kungfupandacam making another unneccesary post. This has been a good log so far. Keep it up!

Dbacks stats through the all-star break

Image

Archie Bradley's stats are in there because he was up for the majority of the season compared to other starters. I did call him up to replace Randall Delgado who has been struggling lately, as you could guess he'll be in a bullpen role for the time being.

We got our pitcher(s)!!! We traded 22yr old 3B Brandon Drury, (B, 66) 23yr old SP Robbie Ray (C, 72) and 22yr old Socrates Brito (C, 59) for 24yr old SP Shelby Miller (B, 82) and 25yr old RP Luis Avilan (C, 76)

What are your guys' thoughts? I think it's a fair trade as the Braves are doing abysmal this season and have pitching up the ass, we got rid of players we didn't necessarily need and I'm happy with the deal. For example, there's just no place for Drury with Jake Lamb and Yasmany Tomas.

btw the NL won the all-star game. Our all stars were Pollock, Tomas, and Goldschmidt.

We sent down Rubby De La Rosa, and Chase Anderson to make room for the two new acquisitions.

First series out of the break.

Image
One run losses are the worst.

Image
Goldy walked us off, again. He's been heating up lately after a poor (for his standards) May-June. Meanwhile Tomas has been slowing down as you'd expect, can't keep it up forever.

Image
Naturally he threw 8 shutout innings giving up only 3 hits and striking out 10.

Idk seems like a good trade. Especially when u e pitches like that his first game

Wow the Pirates and the Cubs are doing notably poor and the Brewers notably well! They've almost got the NL Central backwards compared to what it is irl, minus the cardinals obviously

yeah i've noticed that both of those teams can rarely do as well as their real life counterparts, at least in my franchises

I like that trade, gave up some decent prospects but to get a guy like Miller (and a solid relief guy in Avilan) makes it worth it for sure

also, Tomas is absolutely killing it

yeah I know I didn't expect this much from him, he's a stud man.

There really wasn't any room in the organization for those prospects, except maybe for the exception of Socrates Brito who had a lot of potential but was pretty raw. Drury was blocked by Tomas and Lamb and Robbie Ray was just another good starting pitcher in a farm full of good starting pitchers. He'll get the playing time he "deserves" with Atlanta.

haven't updated in a few days because i've been so drained after baseball i dont have the energy to bother.

Walk-off grand slam by A.J. Pollock. Newly acquired Luis Avilan appeared in the 9th, and gave up two solo shots. Luckily we were able to comeback in our half of the 9th.

After our first game against the Marlins, we traded 29yr old OF Mark Trumbo (79) to the Toronto Blue Jays for 25yr old C A.J. Jimenez (69). The Jays were looking for another outfielder after Andy Dirks and Michael Saunders both went down. On our side of the deal, it provides competition at the major league level for Peter O'Brien, as well as providing a stronger fielder at the catcher position. Gerald Laird was DFA'd and will most likely be released.

Image
Dan "Ace" Haren shut us out for the most part.

Image
A series of clutch hits in the bottom of the ninth secured us our 2nd walk-off win in the series, and saved Reed from his first loss.

I like to think that Goldy and Tomas are providing competition for each other, as they're both currently tied in home runs, hits, and Goldy is catching up in the RBI/avg department! :D

I don't get the deal, if Age was younger than four years I'd take it, but really I don't get it

Tomas had a big night, driving in 5. Collmenter was an absolute stud until the 9th inning where he coughed up 4 runs, he struckout the side just an inning earlier! Regardless a good performance.

Image
Another solid outing by Miller, great offensive showcase too, 21 hits!

Image
Lots and lots of hits. Tomas walked us off on a shot to right to secure a series win.

Image
Tough luck loss.

Probably the only time I bother showing scoring summaries.
