Hilarious... the "events" for their "story mode" has one where he gets blown up... by a bomb and a criminal??? Great... glad we don't have that one here.

LOL yeah, my avatar is actually from a spin-off franchise for Nintendo's handheld platforms (GBA/DS) set in the same Success Mode universe from the Pawapuro series. It's basically a standalone game of the success mode with a darker plot full of conspiracies as well as some crazy sci-fi/occult/western/medieval elements that parody Japanese and Western pop culture.

Is it just me... or does Marvin seem to be spazzing out a LOT more in the Japanese version...

And a question on these abilities that go from 2-4... can the go to 5? anyone seen a guy w/ a 5?

Are you talking about consistency, stealing, etc.? If so, then no, they only go up to 4. You can check it in the player search function.

Yeah, most of the 5 scale abilities don't actually have the extremes. Clutch and Lefty are the only ones that have all 5. Also vs Runner can only be a 3 (default) or a 2 (negative).

I think there should have been a Durability 1 for Kerry Wood and Carl Pavano though, it's odd seeing them last a full year in Season Mode

LOL, alright, that helps. So I would find it fascinating to get 5s in other cats as well. Perhaps via password hacking.

I don't think so. I had some fun editing Roger Clemens, and gave him every possible ability. All I could do was get 4's.

mmm funny you should mention Clemens... *cough cough*

Seeing as he is my best pitcher and sometimes outperforms a maxed out pitcher over the course of the season.

It was attempt to show my support.

But in reality, I did it before Brian McNamee decided to be a ****. They didn't call him one of the greatest pitchers for nothing. Plus, I felt like trying the option and he was the first to catch my eye - Yankees are the first team to show up.

IMO most of the guys in baseball did it, so I wouldn't care if Clemens did it or not. I maxed out a guy that was the youngest guy in the minors on the marlins and traded for him with A.J. Burnett(success mode) because his salary didn't come down when I registered him. It was still at 15,000.

I registered Ultimate before starting my team in season mode. His salary was around 2500 and after winning several awards including ROTY and MVP he only asked for an increase to 8500.

Only?
I believe that is the equivalent of $6,000,000. I could live a lifetime off of that ... But not if I want the Good Life. Apartment and Mickey D's - I could do that. Not for wining and dining.

Relatively speaking of course....it seems much better then 15,000.

yeah.
but this is like arbitration and the record for pre-free agency players is the $10 million (10000) that Alfonso Soriano got. which is closer to 8500 than 15000.

There's no Super Two thing in this game is there? Wouldn't it be great to international free agents?
