It would be great if you could actually sign success mode playes to five year contracts. :(

Does the Star ability affect anything in gameplay? According to the wiki it's all about popularity and salary, so it seems like a negative, at least from a GM's POV.

From what I gather it just boosts your salary. Maybe it makes your scout rating go up or more easily raised?

A Star player is less likely to be lifted or benched by the AI manager.

On a related note the green abilities are all AI-related. They only affect player performance when the AI is controlling them either as opponents or in sim mode.

Yeah and I think The-F stated before, slugger really seems to kill your average, even if you have a 14 or 15 contact hitter with it.

Thats why normally now I go with patient hitter and slap hitter more often unless I am trying to build a pure power slugger that is.

How do you obtain the purple abilites in Success Mode?

I've searched, but seen no posts...is it an obvious answer? I can't be the only person with this question. Thanks for the help in advance.

Purples are only a cure to the Red (negative) abilities.

Pressure's On - Cure for Walk
Mellow - Cure for Hothead
Be Safe - Cure for Fat Pitch
Believe - Cure for Choke Artist
Prepare - Cure for Slow Starter

Relax - Cure for Error Prone
Restrain - Cure for Free Swinger

How do you get the red abilities in the first place?

The only ones I've ever gotten are Fat Pitch and Sandbag. Is there a cure for Sandbag?

I assume purple abilities are better than nothing (not counting the cost).

They aren't even "abilities". They're just cures you purchase from the ability boost screen to become normal. So no, they aren't better than nothing.

ahhh, the description makes them sound good. guess not.

reminds me of high school course selections. the course descriptions make integrated and individualized math classes (the class for the dumbest kids) sound smart.

Thanks for previous help, but now i got another one...

I'm trying to make a success mode player with the "Gd Small Ball" attribute. It's not listed in the Wiki on what events may give it to you. I've gotten it before, but don't remember how. Any help would be great.

Off topic, but a contribution, Using Challenge @ shopping date with Annie will give you the biggest jump in Likability, 1.25 hearts. While saying challenge at the movies and No at the park are second @ 1 heart. I might have a more detailed list to post later...

Use a Marvin card when you work for a chance at Gd Small Ball.

I don't bunt enough to really need Gd Small Ball :)

i dont see how bunt master does anything at all. even with that and A speed, i still cant bunt for hits.

How do you drag bunt? I know push bunt is bunting with power - are they the same thing?

lol, if you're going by the announcer's determination, you won't see a difference.

For a right-handed batter:
Drag bunt - up the 3rd base side
Push bunt - up the 1st base side
