There is a chance that using a Marvin Card during the Medical Insurance event will give you Walk-Off hitter.

Another question...

Anybody know of other ways to get Walk-Off Hitter besides quitting job or Secrets of Hitting? I remember I got it once (not from quitting job), but can't remember the event. Can anyone confirm that quitting your job actually does give Walk off? thanks again, fellas

I'm confirming you can get Walk-Off Htr by quitting your job and also J-Gao's above post. There are 3 different WOHtr though and I can't remember which events give which ones.

I got Power Hitter using a Challenge card on the Beach date with Becky.

Bunting is easy really, go into practice mode is all I can tell you. Also, don't try to bunt inside pitches outside or high pitches in general.
If you make a lefty player with 15 speed, bunt master, and great IF hitter, with some contact hitting for when you get 2 strikes, you can bunt down the left field line every time and bat about .550 over a season. And then you can steal second every time with this player. The blue attributes allow the ball to stay on the line if you aim for it and reduce the number of popup bunts.

LOL, talk about taking things to the extreme. I need to practice bunting more.

You can get Rally hitter by using a challenge card at the amusement park with Annie. Not just for Gyroball anymore :-)

Good info. I think all events that give abilities have corresponding ones for pitchers/batters. It's just that before they're discovered no one has the motivation to reload enough times to find them ;)

Lol, that's an effort thing... suddenly it becomes work...

Not sure if people know this, but "battler" gives groundball pitcher and cancels out the batter intimidator ability until that pitcher has given up two runs. And "refined" increases the odds that you will get bloop hits that fall between the infield and outfield. I never knew what these did but looked them up on Japanese sites today.

now thats interesting. I didn't think Battler would be so useful, given that it is so easy to get (with gambling). I noticed it is the opposite of Pokerface, but I don't see how. It's like Cautious and Aggressive whatever, so that if you get one, you don't get the other. I wonder why Contact and Power hitter aren't like that.

I've noticed that there are two types of fatigue that a pitcher shows. The first is when he wipes sweat off his brow, the second is when he starts panting and slumping his shoulders.

I've noticed that the pitchers I have with the Battler ability won't show wiping sweat off their brow. Meaning, they seem normal up until they start panting and slumping their shoulders.

I also got Head First Slide on the first Robbie Powerin Random Event at the Supermarket. (Yes card).

That's odd, I've made a lot of pitchers with Battler and I've seen them wipe the sweat off. I think when the pitcher's STAM is low they can go from tip top shape to panting without any warning signs. What was your guy's STAM?

Because if your guys has battler, he will do a fist pump after he strikes out the side. Kind of hard not to show any emotions while doing that. I think you can get both contact and power hitter because it's possible to have a lot of hits and home runs. If you look at the descriptions, that's what it actually says.

Following up on this; I found out fielders also get Cannon Arm. You could say the symmetry for this event's ability is

Gyroball/Cannon Arm - extra juice on throws for both pitchers and fielders
STR Finisher/Rally Hitter - late inning boosts (sort of) for both pitchers and fielders

If you get the tutoring job, the mother occasionally asks how her son is doing. This brings up a fate card decision.

If you play Challenge, you get an extra $100. But, I played Marvin card once and I LOST Tough Out ability and I got Cautious Steal (Green ability).

Craziness.
