It 'sells' equipment found in success mode like the on fire arch, mizzoto spikes, etc. - same value as in success mode, i.e. 250, 350, 300 for items.

They're useless, just for whim. You might notice under some names and where they show credits, some people have a picture of a bat. That's what they got from the store.

I'm pretty sure the upgrades are cumulative rather than replacing the previous upgrade.

With dad coming back 7 times, did you save/reload to get that to happen? Did you get any other random events besides visits from dad? -lol-

I had two games recently (Cy Young and Shoeless Joe) where I played Marvin cards at the first meeting with dad in town (where you're with Alvin and Becky and dad wants you to do home maintenance), and after that I didn't get another RE involving dad. Weird...

I did a little bit of Sv/Rld, but honestly, it was just luck, a perfect storm. There was a 5 wk. stretch where he offered to upgrade 3 times, no sv/rld.

I sure hope it's cumulative, but honestly, can't tell the least bit of difference btw the pitch with 7 upgrades and the other one wth just 3.

And come to think of it, both times I went myself to help him mow the lawn, nnot sending Marvin. I'm not sure if that's just coincidence, though. Still have yet to get him to train me as a fielder though, even after 8 tries. THAT seems not just random, but almost non-existent.

Alright, I'm a little frustrated... at least I think I am. I got Dad to train with me and I "upgraded" my vertical slider. I chose "less slowdown" 3x and "better breaking ball" 3x. The problem is that this "new" pitch doesn't seem any better than a regular vertical slider, and sometimes I'd swear it's worse! I edited Roger Clemens to have the exact abilities and stats and his reg vert slider is several miles faster and even seems to break a hair more. I don't know if I'm overlooking something or what. Does anyone have any experience with this to tell me whats going on?

Ok I finally got this working but was kind of disappointed with the results.
I modified my KN x4 slower x2 better changeup but it became an odd Star Shaker like pitch. I think it lost some bite as well as randomness (now breaks more in the direction of a curve than the opposite way).

I wonder how Soohoo got his to work so well. I would think he had more upgrades, given how his other breaking pitches aren't are hot.

ok i am little confused does this improve pitches like h-slider3 to h-slider 4 or is like you get your own custom pitch that you have to upgrade from the upgrade screen? something like mirage knuckleball or s shaker?

You just improve the pitch you already have and rename it.

ok so it makes knuckleball 6 into custom knuckleball 7?

I don't think it moves it up a level. There's choices like less slowdown and more break, but not with levels. You can still upgrade it the normal way.

If you want to level up, it's done the same way as before. The only difference is that the name changes (it will say "ORIG" on the ability boost screen because you renamed it).

It's a little weird we haven't ironed this out yet (or maybe we have and I missed it), but does anyone know for certain what each of the five choices your dad gives you specifically do? I assume "less slowdown" means your pitch will be faster, but some of the others aren't as obvious.

I'm not 100% on this but just relaying better translations

Less slowdown - More velocity
Sharper pitch - Sharper/later break
Better changeup - Slows down more while traveling toward the plate
Better slowball - Less velocity
Better breaking ball - Increases distance of break

The choices usually have negative effects on the other parameters; ie Making a pitch sharper will lessen the distance of the break (think slider becoming a cutter)

That would seem to make sense and it is what I would think they are.

Does anyone remember when they actually received the original pitch. I don't want to get too far into the second season and not get it and also not being able to turn back. Some random events seem to cancel out others. I am in the second year around July 1 and "dad" just talked to the scout for the first time.

Is it too late??
