it has some type of diagonal movement, i know that. in 2k8 it is basically a lobbed curve. top speed is 45 mph. also, it has been called the bloop curve (Wikipedia).

update: the guy i am currently making has had his level 7 curveball upgraded by dad 1 time by wk 1 in march, yr 2. i named it curve (very original), i couldnt think of what else Candy Cummings would have named it.

Gotta love using the eephus high and inside when it's a lefty vs. lefty situation. It looks like its about to hit the guy and then it's called a strike. Must be really frustrating to be the batter.

So throwing a curve ball here - when I got the dad event where you meet him in town and he asks you to help him out with some work, all I had was a couple of Challenge and a couple of No cards. Since I didn't want to lose my pizza delivery job (I'd already challenged my wages up 3 times), I played a No card and of course got the "dad is now in a bad mood" line. However, it didn't kill the story line! I ended up completing it and getting the original pitch anyway.

So I'm not sure if there is a threshold or a point of no return where dad's story stops altogether?

Challenge card makes you pay $70 though -- is it statistically really better?

When it comes to throwing your dad's glove away, you can answer with any fate card except for "Marvin". It also doesn't matter if you put him in a better mood. You can still get him to come back if you reload enough. My advice would be to just reload a lot after the glove scene until you learn the pitch.(Usually a little after Christmas for me) Then, after that, it seems to be pretty easy to reload for him.

The Yes card works, too?

Just the other day I used a Yes card and still got Dad to come back and ask me for my help mowing lawns. I ended up not saving so I don't know if you can go all the way, but I assume so since the "mowing" scene is the next one to come.

When you use the Yes card you say something like "It would be a shame if this glove got thrown away". To me it sounds like you're not going to throw it away afterall.

Also I didn't know a Marvin card would work. Probably because I usually only use Marvin card when I'm a fielder.

The houseworking job seems to be random regardless (just to get dad in the good mood). Yes it is a ... prerequisite but it isn't sufficient. I don't think you can say yes and complete the arc.

Maybe i misread the previous posts. its not statistically better (seeing as you're wasting $70), but if you're trying to get as far as you can in the arc then it is defintely better. also , like i said, choosing yes when your dad asks for help with his job is better and it doesnt cost anything.

It doesn't matter which one you choose. There is no text saying your dad is in a better or worse mood for any fate card after the glove event. Also playing a marvin card when dad asks you for help does the same as yes and gives you polished socializer.

GREAT! I love it! Darn those Japanese people for keeping all the secrets to themselves (my Japanese will get me to find the bathroom and the nearest hotel, but not describe a baseball game...Rosetta Stone will only work so far XD).

Not at all! I appreciate it, that's why I included the sources and left that comment at the end of the article. I ended up making a best guess or two where I couldn't find something that seemed definitive, like "Novi" (which you translated to "late life"). I don't know Japanese at all, so I'm glad to have the help with it :)

The first site I listed looked like it had a lot of good info (Pawamajor 2 = MLB Power Pros).

Original Japanese: http://kuroiyumi.sakura.ne.jp
Google's Translated version: link

Edit: shortened link so not to break forum layout XD
