After owning this game since October, and placing it hands-down as the best Baseball game for the Wii, I find that I now go through 2-3 month periods where the game is just plain too easy for me to turn on my Wii and play it. Is there any way I can make it a little bit harder? The 30-0 games are only fun for so long.

  • Turn off Lock on batting, making it Normal.
  • Turn off batting and/or fielding indicators
  • Increase AI difficulty to Expert, All-Star, or Powerful
  • Set a handicap so all your players are doing "okay" or "poor" instead of random.

Yep, I can guarantee that if you change the CPU fielding, base running, hitting, and pitching to Powerful (instead of the default Normal), give them lock-on 5 hitting, and then change your lock-on from the default 2 to Normal (= off), not only will you not win 30-0, but you'll probably lose by a very healthy margin. If you've never played at that difficulty before you'll probably even get shutout :)

I think the game could be more clear about difficulty levels, since we actually see this type of question a fair amount. The default difficulty is extremely easy, but at the same time you can also ratchet it up to impossible if you want.

I had the same problem after a couple of weeks, and then I decided to take the following actions:

Turn the player batting lock-on down from 2 to 1
Turn the computer batting lock-on up from 2 to 3 (or +1 from whatever it was)
Turn on "expert" pitching

I lost some relatively close games for a while, but since then I have played some very competitive games that ended on walk-off hits.

Yep I currently play with Powerful mode and Lock-on 2 for the computer. Most of the games are very close :)
