I have seen success players with this title what does this mean? |

There are numerous topics on the forums about it, but Odawali probably gives one of the better explanations of it. Basically it was meant to be Prodigy, as in someone who is just naturally great at something, and along the way in localization(bringing the game from Japan to America) they translated it into something ambiguous like Genius. We'll see if they have it in 2008 or if it's translated as something else. |

It is the title given to a rare breed of player who starts off with exceptionally high starting stats along with Good Sense and no negatives. Usually E's for starting stats, pitchers with 80+ top speeds, to go with both a level 2 and level 1 breaking pitch. |

Only when you are first creating your character(naming them, choosing a stance and position etc.). It's also been stated that it's like a 1:1000 chance. Some have got it in 50 tries but I've personally made around 10 characters and have tried probably 20 times each and never gotten one. In fact, only once did I ever get a character with Gd Sense and no negative abilities, but his stats were terrible so I ditched him. |

I must have really bad luck, I've rolled hundreds of characters and have barely ever even gotten above average stats, the best stats I've gotten was a pitcher with E stamina, F control, 80 MPH, and a 1 CHG, then I don't have a yes card for Goodjob's visit, or Challenge for Dad coming to train me, and fail gambles at the end end of the game when there is a 90% chance of getting it.  some people have all the luck

Mike, the stats you mention there are above average, they fall into the "Standard Plus" category in the wiki. But I know what you mean, I've likewise rolled hundreds of players and never hit a genius. After I eventually finish my current player I'll likely take a couple of week break from Success Mode since I've got both Mario Kart and Wii Fit arriving in the next couple of days, but I might go ahead and reload for a genius since that'll be the one thing with Success Mode I haven't accomplished

One of the first Success Mode characters I made was a Genius, and I didn't even know it. This was before I found this site and all the information on it came out. I went through and made this character without any save or reload really. I didn't even notice the plate on it until I saw the topic come up here. I need to post the password for it, because it was a decently good character for not putting much of any time or effort into it. |
