What do you think the success rate is for this? If some guys fail the first time, are they less likely to succeed if they try again?

My guess would be that the success rate is probably 30% or so, but are there any tricks to get it higher? Does being in a group help?

save/reload and some pitches take more turns to learn than others. For ones that take 2 turns I would put one guy learning it the first week, then put another guy on it the second week, and then reload until the first guy learns it the third week, add another guy the third week, and repeat as long as you need.

I've never gotten it to work - two tries per year for three years. I always teach the knuckler - I guess that's the hardest (highest point total - other the 2SFB - for success mode).

I am trying to teach one of my young pitchers a curveball and he just won't learn it. I S/R about 5 times, letting him go all spring training and he didn't learn anything.

Is this bad luck, or is this player just plain stupid?

Bad luck, probably. It's hard, though. I got my guy (expansion player) a knuckler, and he wouldn't. 2 years later, I was able to get Vertical Slider for him. Wierdly enough, I left him in for two long, so now he has two vertical sliders, a level 1 and level 2.

Getting a new position is much easier. I've gotten Howie Kendrick to have A's at 2B,3B,SS,LF,P,C and B at 1B.
