April 2, 2007
Flyers 5, Padres 4

The Fresno Flyers started their inaugural season with a win at PETCO Park, defeating the Padres 5-4. Rookie Michael Pineda made his major league debut, going 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out none for the win. He lost his bid for a perfect game with one out in the 5th inning off a hit by Robb Quinlan. He also went 2-for-3. Closer Jordan Walden finished it off in the 9th, striking out one and allowing a solo home run to Eliezer Alfonzo. Mike Carp pitched in with a home run, and Josh Reddick went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and a run. The player of the game was center fielder Andrew McCutchen, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run, and a stolen base. He also drove in the game's first run with a single in the first inning. Carp is suffering from side pains, and will need about a week to recover.

Flyers 5, Padres 3

The Flyers won their second straight, as Zach Britton pitched 6 innings, giving up one run and striking out 4, in his major league debut. Britton had 2 wild pitches early in the game, but he rebounded strongly to get the win. The team put in Jordan Walden with a 5-1 lead in the 9th, but he allowed 2 runs over 2/3 of an inning. Fifth starter Aroldis Chapman then came in and retired the last batter on 4 pitches to get the save. Josh Reddick went 2-for-4 with 2 runs, and Paul Janish went 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and 2 runs. The player of the game was Pedro Ciriaco with a 3-run homer to give Fresno the lead in the 5th.

Padres 5, Flyers 2

The Flyers took their first defeat of the season, as starter Daniel Hudson allowed 4 hits- including a Robb Quinlan 3-run homer- and one walk to the first 5 batters before settling down and stringing together several outs, including a double play. The Flyers scored both of their runs in the first inning on back-to-back triples from Pedro Ciriaco and Matt Carson, followed by a one-out sac fly from Mike Carp. The Flyers had only three hits off Kerry Wood (1-0), who pitched a complete game. Players of the game were Kerry Wood and Robb Quinlan.

The Fresno Flyers lost their second straight to San Diego, as the Flyers could not get anything going offensively. Mike Carp hit a solo home run and went 2-for-3, while Josh Reddick went 1-for-3 with a triple. Flyers rookie Vance Worley made his MLB debut, pitching 8 innings while allowing 2 runs on seven hits, striking out three. Rich Harden earned player of the game honors, pitching a complete game.

I'm pretty sure he is not doing this log anymore. However he is doing a Nationals log.
