I was playing a game against the Mets, and I had Barry Zito pitching, and he came so close to a 20 K game and a perfect game at the same time!

He finally started showing sings of getting tired in the 8th, and in the bottom of the 9th inning, Alfredo Amezaga led off for the Mets with a first pitch of the inning double. So there went my perfect game, but I still had a shot at the 20 K game, but then he gave up another hit and it was time to take him out.

I don't know why he was so tired. He had a red face motivation, and it was the third game after the All-Star Break. No one gets tired that quickly after the All-Star game.

That's gotta be annoying. I've never gotten more than 16 Ks myself. It's not easy.

Your pitcher will get tired regardless of his condition. Throwing 20 Ks in a game is taxing on a pitcher. You'd have to throw a minimum of 67 picthes to get 20 Ks and a complete game and that's assuming you never threw a ball and every no strikeout was a first pitch contact out or hit followed by a first pitch doubleplay. I'm sure they fouled off a few pitches and you threw a ball or ten in there.

Plus this game isn't very good with stamina. You can have A stamina and crap out after 70 or even 60 pitches. The best remedy for that is to field a catcher with the Grt Cather ability. That will usually let your guy throw 30+ more pitches than normal.

Usually my guys pitch 15k+ games when they are at pink motivation.

Wakefield's knuckleball keeps giving me games where I get close, and the occasional one where I do get 20 k's.
