Oakland Athletics (Blanton 6-11) VS. San Jose Riptide (Dunne 11-5)

San Jose- It was not a good night to be a starting pitcher last night as both starters, Ryan Dunne and Joe Blanton, got knocked around giving up seven earned runs a piece.
"Obviously not a good night for me tonight." Said starter Ryan Dunne.
The Riptide got off to a fast start, getting an RBI single from Benny Rodriguez in the first, before putting up a big second inning. Lou Newman, Homer Kelly and Willie Hays all singled and Chad Williams followed with an RBI single, Mario Cirelli drove in two with a double and Joe Martino scored on a Zach Goodwin ground out.
The teams would trade home runs in the forth, The A's got a two run homerun from Nick Swisher in the top of the fourth and the Riptide answered back in the bottom of the inning on a Benny Rodriguez two run homerun.
The A's cut into the Riptide lead in the fifth getting a 2RBI double from Milton Bradley and then tied the game in the seventh.
After the A's loaded the bases, Mike Piazza hit a two RBI double to center, which ended Dunne's night. Scott Lewis prevented further damage by getting Nick Swisher to ground into a double play to end the inning.
The Riptide took the lead for good in the eighth. Homer Kelly was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a Joe Martino sacrifice bunt and scored on a Willie Hays single. Hays promptly stole second and scored on a AJ Wright single.
Rick Vaughn picked up the save closing out the A's in the ninth.

So I have been away from this log for a while and I had started on playing again. That is till I found out my 1 year old got a hold of my disk and destroyed it. :(
Will have this back and running once I get a new disk... thanks son.
