Opening Day at Panpaka

In the first inning the Tucson Drive looked ready to threaten as Jose Grisales doubled. Shawn Buck, the cleanup, stepped up with two outs and a runner on second. He hit a hard liner to right and Deuce Miller made a diving catch. In the bottom of 1 Deuce Miller scored Everest with an RBI triple. The next batter McClester got a sac fly to make it 2-0. The next batter, Troy Eckert, homered to make it 3-0. In the bottom of 2 Cameron Rupp lead off the inning with a solo bomb. Mount Everest scored a run on an RBI single. Deuce Miller then hit a two-run jack. Troy Eckert added another solo homer and it was 8-0. In the bottom of 3 Rupp doubled but did not score. In the top of six Stephen Legend was untouchable as his screwball-screwball-fastball combo struck out every batter. Scoring was held off til the seventh as Chase Battle homered. The eighth was a huge inning for the Talons as Ryan Wall singled up the middle to score a run. Mount Everest, the next hitter, bombed one to right for two more runs. Two batters later, McClester got an RBI 2B. Robin Sandoval later hit a two-run double over the centerfielder's head. Legend ended the game in the ninth and threw a shutout.

I have edited the standings after simming the 3rd game of the season. Weeks, Gregorio, Sessions, Aedeno, Shannon, and John have yet to pitch. Thats why they are not in the stnadings. The people with 0 points are pitchers that have pitched but not scored any points.

Our next game is the 4th and last game of the series against the Drive so it will not be summarized but our starting pitcher will be Jarrett Weeks. The next game that I summarize will be after this next game. It is against the Mariners and Pelleti Gregorio will be our starter. Remember that I said I made the 2012 rosters so there are updates like Jose Reyes on the Miami Marlins, Darivsh on the Rangers, and Cespedes on the Athletics.

Seattle Mariners @ Las Vegas Talons
Last night Hector Noesi started against Pelleti Gregorio. Gregorio retired the side in the first inning and the Talons went right to banging. Miller cranked a 1-out double and the next batter McClester got another double to score Miller. Then Troy Eckert hit a two-run shot his 3rd of the season, to make it 3-0. Robin Sandoval and Cameron Rupp added on solo homers. At the end of 1, it was 5-0. Scoring was held of till the 4th when Adam Moore and Dustin Ackley both hit RBI singles to make it 5-2. The 5th was another big inning for the Talons. McClester hit a solo homer, his first of the season, amd Sandoval got a 2-R triple. Rupp then got a sac fly and it was 9-2. Pelleti Gregorio gave up a leadoff double to Ackley and then Gregorio was relieved by Miguel Martinez. Martinez gave up an RBI single to Franklin Gutierrez who was then scored by Ichiro. Ichiro was scored on an RBI single by Casper Wells. At the end of 7, it was 9-5 Talons. Rupp hit a solo homer in the top of eight and it was 10-5. John Johnson closed out the game in the ninth.

Las Vegas Talons beat the snot out of Drive.
Last night the 6-1 Talons defeated the 1-6 Drive 24-8. When you are playing at a tiny field like Local Ballpark what do you think is gonna happen. A slugfest. That is exactly what happened last night. In the 1st inning the Talons hit 5 dingers in a row. It started with a two-run shot by McClester. Then, Eckert, Battle, Sandoval, and Rupp all followed with solo homers. M.J. doubled and then Wall hit a 2-R HR. The next two batters, Everest and Miller, both hit solo homers of their own and it was 10-0 after 1. In the top of 2, Battle, Cabrera, and Wall all hit solo homers. Miller hit a two-run bomb and it was 15-0. After that, we heard that Talons manager Lucas Sweany specifically told his players to stop hitting home runs and just try for singles. In the bottom of the 2nd Drive leadoff hitter, Boris Milton, hit a 2-R homer and it was 15-2. Nothing happened til the 6th when Battle hit an RBI 2B, Rupp hit an RBI 1B, Wall hit an RBI 1B, and Everest got an RBI GO. After 5 1/2 it was 23-2. Calvin Lockhart of the Drive added a solo homer to make it 23-3. In the bottom of the seventh, Brandon Smith lined one right over the leftfield fence and then the next batter Shawn Buck hit another solo homer. After 7, the score was 23-5. In the top of the ninth Deuce Miller forgot about the no homerun rule and hit one out to center. After 8 1/2 it was 24-5. In the ninth Greg Jamison hit a pinch hit 3-R HR with two outs to make it 24-8. One batter later the game was ended thanks to a diving catch my M.J. Cabrera.

Following? Yes.

Aedeno got a save because he pitched the last 3+ innings with a lead.
