Charlotte Stingers (11-8) @ New York Yankees (14-5)

Pitching Matchup:

Lineup Change!
Logan will start at 1st and bat fifth, Roman will bat sixth, Christian will hit seventh, Sergey will hit eighth, and Zhen will sit.

The Stingers would begin the scoring in the second, as Kaz would lead off the inning with a homer, giving the Stingers a 1-0 lead. Logan followed suit, extending the lead to 2-0.

A.D. led off the fourth with a homer, extending the Stingers' lead to 3-0. Kaz followed with a homer, 4-0 Stingers. And Logan followed suit, 5-0 Stingers. A few batters later, with Roman on third and one gone, Sergey hit a sac fly to center, making it 6-0 Stingers.

In the bottom of the inning, with one out and nobody on, Jason Giambi hit a solo homer to center, giving the Yankees their first run of the game.

With men on the corners and no outs in the fifth, Derek Jeter hit a grounder to second that got the first base runner out, but no double play, as the Yankees narrowed the lead to 6-2. After a lineout to center by Bobby Abreu, A-Rod hit a homer to left, narrowing the lead to 6-4. Giambi followed with a homer to right, making it 6-5.

In the sixth, with a man on third and one gone, Doug Mientkiewicz hit a weak grounder to second, driving in the tying run but getting out himself, and the game was tied at 6.

With one on and no outs in the seventh, Abreu hit a homer to left, giving the Yankees their first lead of the game, 7-6. After A-Rod got out, Giambi hit ANOTHER homer, this time to right, and the score was 8-6 Yankees.

Logan led off the ninth with a homer, 8-7 Yankees. But the Stingers would not score again, losing to the Yanks 8-7.

April 26, 2007

Charlotte Stingers (11-12) @ Oakland Athletics (13-10)

Pitching Matchup:
David Teegarden (0-2) vs. Alan Embree (0-0)

In the first, with a man on third and one gone, A.D. hit a double to give the Stingers an early 1-0 lead. Kaz followed with a homer, 3-0 Stingers. Logan followed with one of his own, 4-0 Stingers.

With a man on first and one gone in the third, Kaz hit another homer, extending the lead to 6-0. A couple batters later, with Roman on first and two gone, Christian hit one ober the left field fence, extending the Stingers' lead yet again, 8-0.

In the fourth, with a man on second and one gone, A.D. blasted one over the center field fence, 10-0 Stingers.

The A's finally broke through in the bottom of the inning. With men on first and second and two gone, Mark Ellis hit a single to center, driving in the A's first run of the game.

Eric Chavez would lead off the sixth with a monster homer to left, narrowing the lead to 10-2.

The Stingers struck in the seventh, as Christian, with a man on second and two gone, hit a fly to left, which was dropped by Shannon Stewart, and Christian wound up on second with the Stingers getting another run. Sergey followed with a homer to left, extending the lead to 13-2.

In the bottom of the inning, with men on second and third and two gone, Todd Walker hit a double, narrowing the lead to 13-4.

With two gone in the eighth, Nick Swisher took one deep to left for a solo homer, narrowing the lead to 13-5.

Logan led off the ninth with a homer to right, making it 14-5 Stingers. After a Roman double, Christian took another one deep to left, making it 16-5 Stingers.

Milton Bradley led off the bottom of the inning with a homer to center, narrowing the Stingers' lead to 16-6. Harry came in after that, giving up four runs before he finished the game with a 16-10 win for the Stingers.

Charlotte Stingers (13-13) @ Cleveland Indians (9-17)

Pitching Matchup:
Anthony Palmer (1-1) vs. Paul Byrd (0-2)

The Stingers started strongly against the struggling Byrd, as Kaz, with men on first and second and one gone, hit a massive 478 ft homer to right, giving the Stingers an early 3-0 lead.

Casey Blake came up in the bottom of the inning, with men on second and third and two gone, and hit a double, narrowing the Stingers' lead to 3-2.

After Christian led off the second with a double, Sergey hit a 2-run homer to right, extending the lead to 5-2.

With one gone in the third, Kaz hit another homer to right, extending the Stingers' lead to 6-2. Later in the inning, with men on the corners and one gone, Christian hit a grounder to first, on which the first baseman threw to second and got the out, but failed to make the out at first, and the third base runner would score, making it 7-2 Stingers.

Trot Nixon would lead off the bottom of the inning with a homer to right, narrowing the lead to 7-3. Later in the inning, Blake hit an RBI single, making it 7-4. David Dellucci followed with a homer, narrowing the Stingers' lead to 7-6.

With one gone in the fifth, Roman scorched a changeup to right for a solo homer, extending the lead to 8-6.

With one gone in the sixth, A.D. hit a solo homer to right, making it 9-6. Kaz followed with a homer, 10-6 Stingers.

With two gone in the bottom of the inning, Nixon took one deep off of pitcher Chi Li for a solo homer, narrowing the Stingers' hard-fought lead to 10-7.

With a man on second and no outs in the seventh, Blake hit a single to center, driving in the runner and narrowing the lead to 10-8.

Logan would lead off the ninth with a homer, making it 11-8 Stingers.

Harry would come on for the ninth, giving up a homer to the first batter, Travis Hafner, then proceeded to shut down the Indians for his 7th save of the season.
