The Athletcis had rumors that they were trying to acquire James McDonald from the Pirates for Jonny Gomes during spring training but the Pirates wouldn't agree. They will use a 6-man rotation and will probably incorporate some of their AAA guys.

Happ throws shutout on Opening Day!

J.A. Happ threw a 4-hit shutout last night against the Oakland Athletics. Happ also got 14 K's and 0 walks. On offense, for the Mariners, Mike Carp went 2-for-4 with 2 runs batted in, and Scutaro and Figgins contributed with RBIs of their own as well. For the A's, Justin Upton, Collin Hollandsworth, Juan Uribe, and Everth Cabrera got the only hits.

This log makes me want to go simulate 10 years in Power Pros season... stupid homework. :(
