Ok, this obviously relates to transferring techniques from one player to another but step one of this process is improving the Friendship levels between players which as far as I can see is impossible.

Since *everybody* seems to be having a very difficult time doing this (I've only seen 1 post by The-F claiming to have raised the levels) I figured I'd make a thread about it.

Are these completely broken? Can they actually be raised? If so how?! Please post any and all info that you find in this thread to make all of our lives easier.

Every time it has worked for me. So far I've paired success mode players together and pitchers. C.C. Sabathia and Johan Santana have turned into high trust after a year. I remember Daisuke Matsuzaka being paired with someone. Maybe I'm just getting lucky.

Maybe the game is more like real life than I thought. Does ethnicity have anything to do with it? i.e. Melky and Cano or Daisuke and Okajima?

Where do you see these trust levels?

Once you've paired (grouped) them... they will show up in the practice menu at the top.

I highly doubt they would ever do that... considering how that's *not* the case in real life. Unless your success mode character grew up in a trailer park. :?

I'd assume that if two guys speak the same language the communication would be better. It's harder to teach someone if they don't know what you're saying ...

but since it's not the case ...

I would place similar pitching styles together (hurlers with hurlers, etc...) and Fielders of similar roles together (middle infielders+CF, Corner IF, OF, C).

Hmmm ... I don't have this problem. My approach is that I put people in groups that are doing the exact same type of training, such as TOP SPD or PWR or whatever. Once you've raised their friendship, even if you move both of them to a different type of training and regroup them, they'll stay at the higher friendship level. I'm not sure if there is an average time though, I've had some instances where players go from low to high in half a season, and other times when it takes more than a season. My impression is that experience (major league years) comes into play in the "veteran leader" part - as in pairing two rookies will take a lot longer to develop high friendship than a 5 year vet and a rookie.

When your friendship levels go up, the box/lines connecting them change from blue (low) to yellow (medium) to pink (high). Another indicator is the face on the box graphic surrounding the group changes from both eyes open (low) to one eye open one eye closed (medium) to both eyes closed (happy).

You know that's a really good point. They do have birthplace attributes after all...maybe there's a purpose for that?

I doubt it. Reason being that Success players don't have birthplace attributes. Or at least I don't think so. I'd say that maybe they need to have the same favorite team but all my success players have the Toronto Blue Jays as their favorite team and they still hate each other so that can't be it.

There's already a purpose for having a favorite team - to add the role-playing element of being drafted by your favorite team, and also to set the default uniform for that player. He needs one because otherwise he would have nothing to wear if you put him on an arranged all-star team.

This may be off the beaten path, but it made me think -- I was putting the finishing touches on my latest Success Mode reliever (no gambling ring and he's pretty damn good) when I thought, "Why am I putting in his birthday?"

Maybe there's some sort of Zodiac sign type stuff going on with friendships and trust levels? Opposite zodiacs never get along while compatible ones become friends...? I am not sure of any way to test this theory without knowing everyone's birthdays, but it may be a reason. May not. Shot in the dark

Well, the game is Japanese so who knows. They're pretty hardcore into the whole horoscope thing over there. That being said the reason you're entering his birthday is so the game knows when to increase his age while playing Season Mode.

If so, that's good for me because all my success mode guys have the same birthday.
