I was bored and in need of a catcher, so I decided to go movie theme and make Crash Davis. We have some Hall of Famers, so why not make a Roy Hobbs or some other decent movie character ball player. Just an idea.

The only ones I know are from the Sandlot. Squint, Hambino, Ben-Rod, Yeah-Yeah, etc. Don't remember much, though.

Or the kid from rookie of the year... a 105mph maxxed out fastball and the ephy pitch at like 20mph...

I wonder if you can throw an Eephus pitch... I'd like to see those guys swing at a pitch that hits dirt 3/4 of the way to the plate.

I guess an extremely polished Palmball would do the trick... lots of dad upgrades... though having such a high top speed would increase the speed of the eephus too.

Use some slow pitch and use Dad's training to make a "better slowball"

yeah.. that's the issue.... the game can't compensate for pitchers who have an extremely large speed gap between pitches (which would make the eephus pitch a bit more usable... I'd use it.

Eephus pitch would be unhittable. 60 mph difference would be impossible to hit. I hate how the game the speed differences in pitches are the same for every pitcher.

It's made up (partly) with the large amount of possible pitches, especially in the downward direction.

exactly... the programmers thought they could be smart by making speed a blanket formula for every pitch, based on top speed and break. Obviously to nit pick each pitch for every player would require quite a database.

They probably went with an average range, like for major league pitchers the speed difference between a fastball and a changeup is typically 10-12mph. Some pitchers have a wider gap than that, but the devs probably just went for the average.

I believe he throws a fastball and sometimes a slow curve (just saw major league 1 and 2 on tbs)
Anyway his stats would be more like...
G Control
A stamina
Intimidator, walk, choke artist, hot head power p, and maybe Dr. K
EDIT:: now that I think about it, fat pitch could be in there also
