Post subject:  The TO-DO list

Alright, eventually I'll have this up as a page on the wiki, but for now, as more people watch the forum than the wiki, I'll post it here.

These are all "general" things that need to be fleshed out or added altogether.

Article Needs:
  • Season Mode- Needs to be split into sections for fleshing out.
  • Abilities/Items- Costs, potential "bonuses", etc.
  • Success Mode Events- Keep 'em coming!
  • WiiMote Mode
  • League Mode

Wiki Needs
  • Images of modes- I want reasonably good pics here.

Ya, I did up most of the random events here:

There's still several that are missing though I'm sure and a lot of the Fate Card options are missing the stat changes. While playing through Success Mode, whenever you get a random event check with the Wiki and choose the option that we havn't done yet and fill it in! If it's bad then just reload the game since if you're like me then you're saving every turn anyways. :D

Most of the item info is on the Bison's Shop page; I'm trying to add other non-shop items as seperate pages, or anything that needs detailed explanation (rookie charm, gambler's ring) - and get them all under Category: Items...

Since the abilities given can change (and I've never possesed any of these items yet) it might be slow going.

Here's a quick question tho: I am thinking of only making individual pages for items that need description or offer abilities. As in, if a bat gives +1 CON, I'm not making a page on it...but I will make a page for Marvin's Bat, or Gambling items that have special functions. Sound cool?

The problem with bats and gloves (not shoes?), is that they don't have the same potential ability each time you play. We do know that there is a possible "pool" of abilities for each bat, as some abilities come up often, while others are completely unlikely (and proof would be best shown with a screenshot).

I'm not sure I want to make a unique page for each equip item, but that may prove necessary later as we determine the abilities that can be on that item.

My biggest concern is getting everything organized so it's easy to traverse the main pages through links.

I'm thinking on nav boxes to add to category templates, and possibly infoboxes as well that can be used on pages that have the same basic stat setup (ability costs, exp gains, etc...).

So much to do, so little time :sad:

I was thinking maybe you should separate the articles about game facts and the ones for user-created stuff (like characters and strategies). Right now it feels like having someone's diary interlaced with an encyclopedia.

Yes, there are a lot of "opinion" based stuff in there right now. However, as we're mostly unclear about the outcomes of events/character outlines/etc., most pages should be considered tagged as "Opinion" and "Needs Verification" until we can get around to placing the proper tags on everything.

It's possible that I'm just dense, but I'm not seeing how to create a new page. I don't see an existing or wanted page for Original Pitch other than the brief mention of that outcome from dad's story arc, and can't figure out how to make a new page. I've come across some excellent technical info on what the original pitch modifications do, and wanted to put that stuff into the Wiki.

I'm not sure how to create one from scratch but when I make a new page I just link the subject in a page already created. Then I click on the red link.

So you can edit the page where you say original pitch is mentioned. Once you put [[Original Pitch ]] in there just click the red link!

To create one from scratch you simply search for it. Type in "NFL Football" in the wiki and it will not come up with any pages, but it asks you if you want to create it.

I was wondering that myself, but then did what Wulftown said.

I think something else that could be done would be to add all the custom players to the Wiki, making it easier to find everyone's password.

I think I can help with the wiki pictures.

What are the requirements for such pictures?

i.e. resolution, which screens etc?

@JGao

Either a form or people need to start learning basic wiki editing. If they can code BBCode (forum code), they can handle wiki editing just fine. Just head on over to the tutorial, view the talk pages and look around at the other characters as a guide.

@Tonyp

Nothing larger than the images being used by other screenshot takers, 800x600 should be the maximum, we can always thumbnail them down to size.

At this point, I'm not picky, however, Characters would be my first priority. And if you have decent image editing skills, you can crop, and clean up the images as well (but it's not necessary, unless your TV makes those ugly feed lines).

The <references/> tag sometimes shows up blank when I'm not logged in to the wiki. Confirmed with both Firefox and IE. Anyone else have this problem?

Try these pages:
