If you've never played a baseball video game before, then MLB The Show 10 is the perfect game for you! It's available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and the PSP and it's the best simulation of real life major league baseball that you will ever find. Not only is it the perfect game for baseball purists, it also has something for the casual fan as well.

The online play is fantastic because the show's servers are very well put together and unless you have an unreliable internet connection, you won't really see any lag while playing the game online. The game is also packed with a lot of great modes including franchise mode, where you have the opportunity to pick any MLB team and run the show as if you were an actual general manager in the majors. Also, everyone's favorite mode this year seems to be the "Road To The Show", where you can create a player or pick a current MLB player and guide that player individually from season to season from the minor leagues all the way to the majors.

From the stadiums to the dugouts and animations, MLB The Show 10 is a must have for any true baseball fan that plays video games because once you pop the game in, there is no turning back and you will feel like your actually playing in a major league ballpark and there are not many sports games let alone baseball games, that will give you that same experience.

Some of this I don't agree to. First, appealing to the "casual fan" in this case doesn't seem to make sense. I've found that Sony's systems are the most difficult for "pick-up and play" games. Microsoft is in the middle, and Nintendo tends to be great at that. Road to the Show beats MLB Life I think, but I think Success, with MLB Life, can better that. MLB the Show is in the market to hardcore fans of the MLB or hardcore PS3 players. The PS3 doesn't really have an effective market towards gamers who just want an easy to play, fun, not nesecarilly realistic game. I don't know why everyone wants an insanely realistic game. Personally, when I play a video game, I want to escape real life. I'd say the "best" baseball game ever would be one that doesn't take itself too seriously.

In terms of video game baseball, the show is cool and the most "realistic", but give me slugfest over any "realistic" game any day...

I have The Show. What I don't have is the time or patience to spend an entire evening slogging through one measly 9-inning game. I'll take fun over realism any day.

I agree, if you want the real deal of playing a sport, go actually play it...(Not saying anyone who plays sports games is like this, but most people want realism in sports games yet they never play the said sport they have a video game of.

People have different opinions. I currently prefer The Show as I've got nothing to accomplish in MLBPP. I love their season mode and i could play for hours and hours and not stop. MLBPP has it advantages too, but ultimately, it depends on what you look for in a game. Some people prefer cartoons over realism as they are younger (like most of the people here).

And some people prefer realistic gameplay over realistic graphics. Also, very surprised it hasn't been brought up yet, but this is a spam topic, posted in the wrong place, with the post deleted, and random links in it. Kinda strange how a legitimate debate has broken out, it's also an old topic.
