Yoshi Konishi, a young baseball player from Osaka, was sent from the NPB to the MLB at 18 in 2008. Arriving in Seattle, he was instantly one of the team's top prospects in AAA at RF. After moving up in May 2008 right after he hit for the cycle in AAA, he entered a game as a PH in the 8th. After grounding out, he hit a walk-off single in the 11th. Konishi didn't slow down at all that year, hitting .397 on his way to MVP, Rookie of the Year, and the single season triples record. Next year, however, was a different story. After a slow start, the Mariners traded Konishi to Atlanta. Here, he recorded his worst season and his only season below .300. Next year, in 2010, he was traded midseason to the Angels, a contender for the playoffs. He quickly helped the team and lead the team to the postseason. There, the Angels were unstoppable, steamrolling the competition and winning the World Series. In 2011, there was more of the same, a dominant team powered by Konishi, Guererro, Figgins, Halladay, and Arroyo cruising to a World Series title. 2012 was the highlight of Konishi's career so far. After hitting 59 homers and stealing 40 bases in 2011, Konishi had surpassed that mark before the All-Star Game. You could say he was playing like a man posessed. However, his production fell sharply after the break. Despite this, Yoshi Konishi had managed to hit 84 home runs, 201 RBIs, and maintain a .379 batting average, enough to win the Triple Crown while smashing the home run and RBI records. The postseason was a challenge for the Angels, though. Barely scratching their way into the World Series, they faced a Mets team that had Beltran, Reyes, Wright, and more. The teams went back and forth, with Konishi carrying the struggling Angels into Game 7 in New York. Despite Konishi hitting 2 homers, the Angels fell to the Mets, crushing all hopes of a 3-peat in Anaheim. Konishi was devastated. He had broken records, been the driving force behind the team's success, and yet he couldn't take them the final step. After that season, Konishi was determined to bring back the trophy to Anaheim one more time. 2013 proved to be the year he did it. After another great regular season, the Angels managed to come back to the Fall Classic and win it. Konishi was on top of the league once again. He married his longtime girlfriend, and they had a baby girl not long after. That year, Konishi went into F/A, looking for a new team to take his talent to. After rejecting offers from the Yankees and Red Sox, he was left with only 2 options, the team he hated most, the Mets, and the Angels. He decided to stick with the Angels. But, during this extension, he couldn't quite replicate his past seasons. He did, however, stay productive and help the Angels make more playoff runs. In 2018, he had a choice to make, stick with the Angels, or join a new team in a promising new league that rivalled the MLB. Konishi decided to return home.
