Since it's basically annual tradition for me to start this thread, I thought I'd get a head start on it this year!

Here's a link to the 2018 thread for reference!

If you don't have resolutions, that's totally okay! If you do, best of luck with this year's, and feel free to post them below! If you made resolutions last year, feel free to comment how you did! (No shame if you didn't complete any of them!)

Here's how I finished on my resolutions from last year:
-- Keep a daily journal: Nope. I tried several different kinds of journaling throughout the year, but none of them lasted more than a couple months. I guess I could count this as a half-success?
-- Listen to 50 new albums: Nope. I finished the year at 45 (20 of which were 2018 releases), so I'll count this as another half-success.
-- Read 10 books: Nope. I don't think I read a single book all year. I did read like five acts of Homestuck though, so that counts for something.
-- Keep a 3.0 GPA: Nope. I dropped out. This wasn't even close.
-- Be gay: Yes! I think I managed to be pretty gay this year.

My all-time records:
2013: 1 for 1
2014: 3 for 5
2015: 4 for 7
2016: 6 for 11
2017: 3 for 15
2018: 2 for 5
Total: 19 for 44 (.432, not a bad batting average )

Here are some of my resolutions for 2019:
-- Stay alive.
-- Tell my friends I love them more. (Psst: I love you guys!!)
-- Collect and keep a dream journal.
-- Finish a writing project.
-- Read some books.
-- Listen to at least 50 new albums. (Same stipulation: not strictly 2018 releases, just any album I haven't listened to in full.)

A few of my more abstract goals are to take better care of myself, spend more time with friends, and become more confident in myself.

An early Happy New Year to everyone! Wishing a happy and safe 2019 to you all, whether you make resolutions or not! ♡

2018 Resolution Results:
Score a 28+ on the ACT: Actually pulled it off and got a 31, although I wish I would have gotten a point or two more.
Decide on a college:: I decided to attend the University of Illinois starting this fall. Got denied from each of my top 3 choices (Northwestern, Michigan, Wisconsin) but U of I is still a good school. (even if their sports are awful).
Start lifting: I've actually been able to do this pretty consistently.
Go to Prom: I did go to the winter dance at my school but I didn't enjoy it. Ultimately wasn't able to find a group to go with. Ah well.

My 2019 resolutions:
Make the best of my final semester of high school: Not much of a concrete goal but my high school experience hasn't been the best and I want to change that.
Maintain my work ethic: I've increased my effort in school since the beginning of last year and while I haven't gotten the results I want yet, I need to keep pushing forward.
Find a strong friend group in college: I struggled to fit in throughout high school and I need to change that over the next four years.
Establish a stronger relationship with the girl I like: I've really liked her since I first met her but we've never really talked to each other since then. I'm going to miss her dearly and all I can do is swing for the fences.
Have a better season in fantasy football: Fantasy football is one of my favorite things and this year was such a disappointment after last season.

Odd years are generally better for me and I hope that is the case for everyone else in 2019!

Last year’s goals

-Weigh at least 205 lbs. by the end of the year: Nope, I’ve gotten up to 198 at the highest but I’m typically around 195.

-Be in the starting rotation by the end of the 2018 season: I was in the starting rotation at the beginning of the season so at least I made it, but i ended up getting demoted so I’m gonna give this one a no too.

-Keep my ERA below 4.00: Also a no sadly, my ERA was a 4.89.

-Get a 4.0 next semester: I didn’t have a 4.0, i think i had like a 3.85 or something idk but I made WCC all-academic.

-Maybe get a girlfriend, idk: Uhhh no

Rip to my 2018 goals, but here’s to succeeding in my 2019 goals.

2019 goals are

-Stop drinking soda: Idk how long this’ll last, probably not long at all
-Have an ERA below 3.00
-Finally hit 90 mph
-Have a K:BB ratio above 4:1
-Make it to the conference tournament (not really a personal goal, but...)
-Hopefully get a 4.0
-Once again, maybe get a girlfriend

Haven't really posted in these threads except for when I was a detriment to them by trolling before so I guess I'll keep it real this time

Obvioulsy didn't post my goals last year, but here they basically were
- Get in better shape/lose weight (I was able to accomplish this, I joined the swim team and changed my diet which both helped)
- Get more playing time in the baseball season (Yessir, I played a lot of new positions too. Even got to pitch in a few games)
- Finish my junior year strong/start senior year strong (I feel that this happened, at least the first part. Senior year classes are annoying but I'm still alive I guess)
- Get accepted into college (Denied from my ED school. Waiting for the RD decisions to come around)
- Win the Chip in fantasy football (Agonizingly close in MLBPPWorld, 4th place in my two other leagues)

So for 2019
- End my high school career strong (Should be able to accomplish, as long as my AP Euro teacher doesn't make me want to commit)
- Start every game this baseball season (Idk what position I'll be at but I want to play all the games for sure)
- Lift more (I'm faster now but I want to be stronger for baseball SZN)
- Find the college that's right for me (I like all the schools on my list so we'll see)
- Win the Chip in fantasy football (I'm coming for the Chip. This is MY YEAR)

GoTwins I feel you with the winter dance/prom stuff too haha. Congrats on Illinois! Hope everyone has a great 2019

Yeah, that's why I'm looking forward to getting high school with. Good luck choosing your college as well!

So last year my resolution was to keep a to-do list so I could keep myself organized.

It turns out, constantly reminding myself of all the things I haven't done yet is a great way to be stressed out constantly and make me hate myself, so I stopped.

So here's the new goal: Schedule things

Not planning out my whole week by the hour, but just whenever I think of a thing that I need to do, pick a time for it and write it down somewhere. It can be a sticky note that says 'Call electric company after class' or a reminder in my phone that says 'Study biology' at 3:00. That should be a better way to make me do things instead of just letting everything stress me out

Other goals:
-Graduate college (AAAAAAAAAAAA)
-Get a job (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA)
-Work out more often (gonna start with 3-4 times a week)
-Keep in touch with my friends (Now that we're all graduating I need to put effort into this)
-Get my new roommate into board games so he can hang out with my friends
