That grand slam probably solidified Posey's spot as MVP, and gave me a lot of hope for the team in the CS. The team is getting it done with their bats, even without Cabrera, and they're pitching pretty well (even with Lincecum doing bullpen duty), getting out of 3 straight jams in Game 5 there. I tip my hat to them for their unprecedented comeback, and can't wait to see what the NLCS brings... if the Nats win Game 5, then I'd be happy with either team advancing to the World Series.

Well duh, but that doesn't mean people don't look at the guy hitting a grand slam in Game 5 of the NLDS and give him an extra point or two in their minds. It's not like the voters completely ignore the postseason so that they can put horse blinders on for their voting. Of course there'll be some cognitive biases and such from postseason play, however major or minor. And, in this case, the clutchness of that grand slam may very well have solidified his spot, either in a very direct sense or in a more abstract or analogous sense.

I'm pretty sure the voting is done before the post season if I'm not mistaken.
