Found a great series of books, The Maze Runner. Kind of like the Hunger Games, so check them out.

I guess do you have any tips? And how do you make the cool intro like dish has? I don't want to copy his, but it would be cool to have one. Do I need fancy stuff, like a mic, and a capture camera instead of a regular video camera? Because I don't think I'll buy a mic or capture card. The videos with my camera are kind of blurry, but I can still read everything. Is Windows MovieMaker an O.K. program to use to edit them? Also, how long should it take to upload a video around 9-10 minutes long to Youtube? Also, what about commentary? Would I have to do it live since I don't have a mic?

Any help is appreciated, since I'm kind of a noob to stuff like this.

You have good taste. I've still never gotten around to reading book 2, even though I got the first one for Christmas in 2010.

Wait... in what way is it like the Hunger Games? Do you mean writing style, or the fact that they're both sci-fi?

IDK, they just sort of reminded me of the Hunger Games, with them being put off on their own, by a government organization, ya know?

Well, I guess since I've been around YT longer (I think), I'll try to give you a few pointers, note that this is how I do it, not necessarily how you should do it (but if you want to, that's completely fine.)

I use Windows Movie Maker to make my videos. It's not the best one out there, but if you want a cheaper option (still does fairly OK in things you can do with it), WMM is the one for you.

For recording, if I'm recording my TV, I use my laptop's built-in webcam, which also has a microphone in it. To get decent quality, I try to get it as close to the TV as I can so that I still get the entire screen, and it doesn't show a bright white light for the whole video. But there's a whole other complicated way to do it with capture cards and tons of cables and stuff like that, but I wouldn't venture into that if you're not willing to spend $50+, so that's why I use my webcam.

Recording from your computer is a bit more complicated. I think I'm lucky to borrow my dad's headset+mic, but you can get a fairly decent one, surprisingly, very cheap. I think I saw one on Amazon for around $5-10. As for recording the video itself from the computer (if you actually want to do that), I use a free program called CamStudio. It's a free download, and it produces pretty good videos.

As for the intro, I made a custom logo on Google Docs (I've had an account there ever since 7th grade, when I used it in my computers class) using the Nintendo logo, and overlapped it with my username. Then, after that, I put a stock picture (AKA pictures from Google Images) of the game that I'm playing, along with a well-recognized song from that game playing over it.

If you want more help, there's a lot of videos about how other LP'ers record their videos, so if you want to check it out, feel free.

Just my .02.

Everybody else uses capture cards, I've watched those videos. My video camera has a built in mic, but it wasn't picking up sound very well. So I learned how to turn the mic gain up, so hopefully you can hear better now.

I think I can find a decent logo creator online for free. Thanks for the help! Is it easy to add music on WMM? And do you do live commentary?

It's very easy to add music, just drag and drop onto the bottom (or next up from bottom) timeline. And, yes, I do live commentary. I don't think I would do good with post-commentary, because I know what's going to happen ahead of time, and I like to be surprised.

Yeah, they just signed Hiroki Kuroda and traded for Michael Pineda, giving up Jesus Montero.
