Spam is a way of keeping your post counts high. Spam is a way of keeping the site active. However, the spam has really pissed me off really bad lately. I define spam as unless posts that we do not need and we can live without. Basic chat words such as "Hahaha (Followed by a smilie)" is really dumb and retarded. The guys that post it know who they are and

I'll give a few examples.

1)
Look at this. I'm bored followed by 2 smilies. This is dead spam that people do not care about. This is an example of chat words that can be done over AIM, Google Talk etc. We do not need these posts and we can certainly live without it.

2)
Another example of a meaningless 1 line post which is another typical chat word.

3)
We do not need this do we? We definitely can live without this.

Looking at this, we can see that there are spam that we do not need. You guys know who you are and please avoid this by all means. This is a forum, not a chatroom and we do not need these chatting crap that doesn't do anything but slow the site down and add to your post counts. Post counts seems to be a BIG DEAL to your guys, if so, you might as well create a thread and call it "Derek Jeter's Spam, don't write on this."

Next, we have people that double post, triple post and more. This is really dumb as we do have an EDIT button that you guys can use. Usually the double post would come within an hour of the previous post. The post has not been bumped down by then. If you wish to double post, I suggest you either edit your post or wait for a day to do this. Furthermore, there has been a lot of . You guys AREN’T sorry at all. In no world are you guys sorry, but you guys are only post count minded and wish to go up the leader board. If you guys were sorry, do what I said with the edit or wait for a day. The “Sorry for double post” always come 15 minutes within the previous post and if no one responds to it, it means that people do not need it. Understand that the edit button was created for a reason.

We are having more "Free for All" posts than ALL other posts. This is a really sad case, this being a "MLB Power Pros Forum". We have a lot of threads that need not exist. Threads such as “Rate the Song Above with A Smiley” and “Forum Member Updates” have a total of 70 pages attached to it. 70 pages are equal to about 1000 posts. 1000 posts of spam is certainly a lot.

Rate the Song Above with A Smiley is really unless. We do not need this. I have 80% of the songs there from my iPod and I know how it sounds like. If you wish to share songs, compile a list. Congratulations for 12 pages of unless crap. I say this is spam because I could just shuffle my iPod and it has close to 1000 songs. I can just post all of them and here comes 1000 posts.

Forum Member Updates is unless too. We do not need to know what is going on in your life. ALMOST all the stuff there is good and it just makes the people that do not have the stuff flat out jealous. We do not have get stuff all the time. People who post that I believe are rich fags who like to show off and I’m certainly not impressed by the money you guys have. For the bad stuff such as breakups and bad grades, you guys can create a separate section and explain everything in detail so its only in 1 post.

I hope you guys understand the point I’m making here and I know I pointed out some people and you guys should take note of this.

Forum member update you can live without it. Do you think anyone cares if you do anything at all? Lets say you say "I'm going to Japan" does anyone care? So what if your going to Japan. Its not like you can do anything about it or ask him to get something for you. Rate a song with a smile is pretty dumb as I said. The songs are so freaking old for crying out loud, I heard all of them and its just posting a song and thats all. Songs can be found really easily now and there is no point in doing so. Furthermore, the songs posted there are VERY COMMON, such as Check Yes Juliet. Well since there is no power pros, you should go work on your spelling rob. (wiht)

Would you like to me insult your many grammatical flaws? You can't insult someone's spelling and use "its" instead of "it's", or use "your" when you should have used "you're."

Ok, sure go for it. Not stopping you, but as long as you guys got the spamming message I honestly don't care about my poor grammar.

Because of what? This got off-topic fast and I agree with m_a_l, he's trying to be a leader and help this community and to tell you the truth bad spelling pisses me off more than mad grammar like your and you're(And this isn't meant for me flaming out at you rob, I say it with good intentions)


Except some things should be kept on Forum Member Update such as when you say happy new years or things like that, I like the idea of forum member updates but for "important" things then make a topic(if its long enough and is good enough for a topic). If it's a sports thing like someone getting fired or some huge story then just make a topic

we've gone through this once before,we can try,but no matter what,we wont ever be able to stop the spam

Taking it down a little kind of helps

and with so few people here now it's possible to lower the spam lever a little

you're right its not possible to completly stop it but lowering the level of it could work

not to point fingers -coughchitopr09cough-but some people can be told about stuff that doesnt involve spam

Well RD, please explain what I need to shut. The long thing i posted up there, is definitely worth more information then this 8 letter sentence you have there. If you explain it, I'll see what I can change and even after you read my paragraphs of crap, you are either 1) Unable to understand the topic or 2) Servere memory problems

I took this from the Simyard topic and I'm pretty sure this is spam that you can definitely prevent. Remember we can live without you saying that so I would consider it spam.
