Today's poll of the day is based on stories. At MLBPPWorld, we read a lot of stories, from season logs to the Short Stories thread. So, I would like to know what type of stories you like to read. Do you prefer lengthy, descriptive stories or short and sweet passages - or somewhere in the middle? Here is an example of each: Example 1: "Short and sweet" Bob walked to the store. He bought eggs and milk, and drove home. Example 2: "Lengthy, descriptive" Bob walked to the grocery store on the corner in jeans and a green T-shirt. He went in to the Target and bought a dozen Grade A eggs and a gallon of 2 percent milk, and drove to his home on Cherry Street in a black Volvo sedan. Example 3: "In the middle" Bob walked to the Target on the corner. He bought a dozen eggs and a gallon of milk, and drove home in his black Volvo. Also, what point of view do you prefer? First-person (I went to the store), third-person (Bob went to the store), or second-person (You went to the store)? You can also respond with what style you prefer to write in. |

What? I'm really confused. This doesn't make sense. Obviously, if you're writing a passage of some sorts, you want all kinds. If your story is filled with just short, non-descriptive sentences, it's gonna be boring to read. If you have way too many details, it's gonna be boring to read. Even if you do all of the "in the middle" option, it's gonna be boring to read. |

Then, you'd probably go with the middle. More details isn't always better, but you need some details to flesh out what you're talking about |
