Alvin

Alvin Lockhart (アルヴィン・ロックハート) is a character in Success Mode 2007. He is the player's baseball rival, although he will not acknowledge it at first. Depending on the player's choices, he can become the Tulips' captain or an antagonist playing for the Champion Rings.

Character Background

Alvin mistakenly joins the Tulips thinking they are an elite team (the Tulip's LADIES' softball team was the good one). He impresses everyone from the start. Even though Alvin is listed only as a pitcher, he is also effective as a position player.

Alvin previously played with Patrick of The World Gatherings, possibly in high school; Patrick was an expert at catching Alvin's special Mirage Knuckler, but after getting beaten when Patrick missed a start, Alvin struck out on his own to prove that he could succeed without Patrick calling the game.

Possible Storylines

Joining the Champion Rings

Alvin will leave the Tulips if the player becomes captain in Year 2. He develops a shoulder injury that goes unnoticed (except by Peter). The next time he appears in the game will be in the Championship game of Year 3, during which he will be a member of the Champion Rings. In this storyline, his Mirage Knuckler will have evolved into the Star Shaker.

Staying With Tulips

Alvin stays on the Tulips if the player does not become captain in Year 2.but he will leave if you aquire willy legend. If Toby is captain in Year 2, the player gets a choice in Year 3 to become the captain, or to give the position to Alvin or Marvin instead. When Alvin is captain, the player receives a point boost to pitching practice.

Alvin will teach Mark Wiseman the "Mirage Knuckler" unless you are a catcher. If your position is catcher, then you will learn how to catch the Mirage Knuckler and you will gain the Good Catcher ability.

Year 2

After the practice match against the World Gatherings in Year 2 September, Mark or if your a catcher you start to learn how to catch it] will begin practicing catching the Mirage Knuckler. After this event, the pitch gets added to Alvin's repertoire as a downward Original Pitch.

Year 3

If Alvin left the team in year 2, he will reappear on the Champion Rings alongside Zero Gibson. His role changes from a starting pitcher to closer on the Champion Rings.

His attributes, however, are identical to his attributes during the 3rd year on the Tulips. While on the Tulips he is their clear-cut ace, on the Champion Rings he is second to Zero in their rotation.

The Mirage Knuckler

The Mirage Knuckler is an original pitch based on the knuckleball.

A knuckleball developed years ago by Alvin, with Patrick's help. Faster, and has more motion, than a standard knuckleball. Alvin didn't use it for years because most catchers couldn't catch it.^[1]

Depending on the storyline, it may evolve into the Star Shaker.
