Teambuilding 101 WIP

In-game tournaments will have specific ruleset/regulations that come with it, and different regulations (Cost 20, Cost 75, Lock On 0) might mean you'll have to adjust your team. Maybe you're just starting and you want to build your own team? Then this guide might help you.

NOTE:

  • This guide will assume that the ruleset being used is Cost 55 with Lock On 3.
  • Code boxes are used as an example of thinking process
  • Zumikaku's character tier list will be very useful in helping you build a team!

Budgeting and Selecting Pitchers

One of the most important bit of teambuilding. Having plenty of strong pitchers (especially in Championship Mode) will help you stay consistent throughout the games, without having to rely on low-cost/0-cost pitchers when your aces are resting. However, allocating more than half of your points to pitchers might cause trouble with your hitting and fielding.

I guess I'll allocate around 23 points for my pitchers, that should give me some good balance.

Generally, for a 55 cost team, you will allocate anywhere between 20-30 points to your pitching staff.

Selecting pitchers

Considerations:

  • Some pitchers can also hit! Check their batting stats in 2023 eBaseball Characters. Pitchers like Reibu, YakyuMask, Possessed Muneatsu, Aasa, and Kiba can double duty as your DH when needed!
  • Some people can get away with two ace pitchers and lots of zero-cost pitchers, but if you don't manage your aces' stamina well, it'll be a problem!
  • SP Pitches are powerful. Suzukaze's SP Forkball 3, Kiba's SP Fastball 3, Possessed Muneatsu's SP Ball (Muneatshuuto) are some of the nastiest pitches in this game.
