The 2011 Red Sox started out 1-7, and they, well, um....

finished over .500! You can do that!

Markakis held true to his promise.

I see Sherrill is your closer. He did nicely too.

Yes, but Sherrill is currently the front runner. Bradford's stock has dropped, and Ray's has stayed relatively the same. By the end of April, I'll probably know my closer

I don't see a problem with that, as long as you still do a couple updates, and as long as you do multiple seasons.

Toronto Blue Jays (6-6) @ Baltimore Orioles (5-8)
Rookie Lorraine Pitches Gem, Orioles Still Lose

After winning four straight and five of their last six, the Orioles offense and bullpen failed to show up today. The pitching was dominant for most of the game, as the two teams combined for seven hits through eight innings. In the bottom of the ninth, the O's started to rally. Brian Roberts hit a leadoff double, and just a couple batters later, Kevin Millar was up with runners on first and third and one out. He floated a flyball to right, assuming he had just hit a walk-off sacrifice fly. But Rios threw a rocket to home and was able to barely gun down Roberts and send to game in extras. In the tenth, Chad Bradford came in to relieve Matthias Lorraine, who had just pitched nine very solid innings. Wells came up to bat to start the inning looking for a little revenge. Not once, but twice in the game, he had crushed a ball off of Lorraine, only to see it slice foul. But on the very first pitch he received from Bradford, he smacked it to straight-away center, leaving no doubt that it was going to be fair. To add insult to injury, Zaun blasted a three run shot later in the inning to knock Bradford's ERA up towards nine. Baltimore was not able to put out a win in the bottom half of the frame and went down after another loss. After the game, sources confirmed that Bradford had been sent down to AAA Norfolk. Other sources said that the Orioles were looking to either trade or release him, but we are unsure in the validity of this report. The player to be recalled from the minors to take Bradford's place has yet to be decided.

Blue Jays: 4
Orioles: 0

W: Janssen (1-0)

L: Bradford (0-2)
HR: Wells (3), Zaun (3)

He's still young, and like Stanton, needs more time to develop their stats before they can start. They have Markakis and Mora, respectively, standing in their way. Davis has really good contact and arm strength, but his speed and overall defense need a lot of work. Stanton has fairly decent arm strength and even better power, but F contact and timely whiff is just not starting quality. Depending on how the rest of the season goes, they may be given a chance in August/September, but until then, they have to hone their skills in AAA

Baltimore Orioles (6-13) @ Seattle Mariners (10-11)
Baltimore Loses Yet Another Tight One

The Orioles have lost once again, this time on a walk-off against King Felix and the Mariners. Both offenses started hot early, entering the third inning with one run a piece, but most offense was scored in the third. The O's struck first, roughing up Hernandez for four runs, including a three-run homer by Luke Scott. The Mariners hit back in the bottom half, with RBI doubles by Ibanez, Beltre, and Sexson to score four runs of their own. In the bottom of the ninth, Betancourt popped a bloop single into left, but was picked off on the next play. Despite that mental lapse, Bloomquist dribbled an infield hit to third, and came home on the winning run thanks to a walk-off triple by Suzuki.

Orioles: 6
Mariners: 7

W: Dickey (1-2)
Sv:
L: Sherrill (0-2)
HR: Scott (4)

B. Roberts: 1-5, R
M. Mora: 1-5, K
N. Markakis: 2-5, R
K. Millar: 1-5, RBI, R, K
L. Scott: 3-5, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R
A. Huff: 1-4
A. Jones: 1-4, R
R. Hernandez: 2-4, RBI
L. Hernandez: 2-4, 2 K

S. Trachsel: 7 IP, 13 H, K, BB, 6 ER
G. Sherrill: 1 2/3 IP, 4 H, 3 K, 1 ER
____________________________________________________________________________________________

It is reported that the Orioles have sent a trade offer to another team involving Chad Bradford and a pair of catchers. Sources say that the odds of a deal getting done are about 50/50. If the deal is rejected, there are, reportedly, other teams interested in Bradford
