Moth of April Synopsis
In the month of April it was obvouis control of the National League west by the Tacoma Reapers. Ending the Month in a 19-9 Record. The Pawtucket Red Claws manage to sneak by the Knights to claim the east divison at the end of April at 19-9 just like the Reapers and Omaha Blazers who went on a 7 Game win streak to take control of the Central mid April and held it for the last 2 weeks. Major Performances by Taysuke Kuramochi (Las Vegas) and Brian Donovan (Orlando) Showed the dominance and necessity of pitching to win games and stay a competitive team with in your division; but on the flip side Manny Ramirez,Albert Pujols, Scott Mathieson made quick work of pitchers by all three combining for 31 Home Runs and all above .340 Batting Average. A very interesting first month for the NABL, hopefully the later months get even better.

Going into the 5th week of play we see the las vegas wolfpack go on a 5 game winning streak towards the end. The whole rotation of pitchers has really been a major factor for Las vegas. Starters and averaging around a 2.70 ERA being virtually unstoppable on the mound at the moment. We also see that the Durham Cowboys and Orlando Curve tie the National League east at the end of this week. Both teams have been fairly scrappy but the lack luster rotation and spotty hitting by both teams could be the demise for them, as well as a chance for Toledo to take the number one spot who has the highest team Batting Average in the east at .291. The reapers still manage to keep the number 1 spot in the NL west for the past month which is spectacular to say at the least. Tacoma holds a 3 Game lead ahead of the Samurais who are picking up the sticks with there base-to-base hitting philosophy has landed them with the highest team batting average in the NL at .301.

Players of the Week
Eric Paterson (Norfolk) 0.00 ERA 2-0 W-L 16 K
Pat Hayden (Nashville) .500 AVG 4 HR 10 RBI
Chase Utley (Colorado Springs) .444 AVG 5 HR 14 RBI
Matt Holliday (Durham) .423 AVG 4 HR 12 RBI

Notable players
Anibal Sanchez (Nashville) 1.93 ERA 2-1 W-L 39 K
David Weathers (Omaha) 0.47 ERA 0-0 W-L 11 K 7 HLD 1 Sv
Matt Treanor (Tacoma) .388 AVG 0 HR 27 RBI

5/5-5/11

Week 6 has come and gone with some very interesting developments. The Vancouver Lions trade Juan Castro (shortstop) to the San Antonio to acquire starter Scott Baker to bulk up the Starting Rotation; even though Scott has gaudy numbers as a starter (5.68 ERA,2-4 W-L,19ks) it's actually better then a majority of the pitching staff at Vancouver so it should be a interesting outcome; Checking the standings we see the Honolulu Samurais close the gap on the Tacoma Reapers in the National League west and the Round Rock Eagles slip to 2nd in the Central even though Pujols is still on fire at the plate.

Players of the Week
Dan Uggla (Pawtucket) .500 AVG 2 HR 5 RBI
John Burton (Nashville) .385 AVG 3 HR 8 RBI
Chase Utley (Colorado Springs) .474 AVG 3 HR 8 RBI

Notable Players

Week 7 and in a stunning turn of events the Tacoma Reapers move from first place to third place and the Sacramento Dolphins leading the division. While this happened there was also a three way tie in for number 1 in the NL Central Division between San Antonio, Edmonton, and Round Rock. The Minneapolis Knights have also shows signs of weakness the past 2 weeks by slipping to the 3rd place spot in the AL East trailing behind the sluggers who have mad a great run towards 1st with Charlie Gordon the League Leader in Strike outs, and all-round slugger Pat Hayden leading his team in virtually every hitting category making up for alot of the hitting production from the sluggers. There also were some players getting moved this week; Willie Taveras was traded from the San Antonio Senators to the Portland Venom for Jake Peavy, A very jaw dropping trade to alot of people but taveras is hitting at a .296 and 27 runs this season so it isn't the most lop sided trade when you realize that lack of speed on the Portland Venom.

Players of the Week
Dan Uggla (Pawtucket) .440 AVG 3 HR 9 RBI
Joe Mauer (Utah) .393 AVG 3 HR 7 RBI
Ivan Rodriguez (Durham) .560 AVG 2 HR 15 RBI

Transactions
Willie Taeras (San Antonio) to Portland for Jake Peavy
Garrett Atkins (Orlando) to Albuquerque for Kevin Escobar
Marquis Aranda OF(Phoenix) to Orlando for Tim Lincecum , Tyler Pedroia (OF)
T.J. Bohn (Louisville) to Denver for Patrick Borkowski

March
All we can say is the rookies have come to play, Carlos Ruiz (Durham Cowboys) Pat Hayden (Nashville) Charlie Gordon (Nashville) and many others have proven their worth early with in the season. Capturing the Eyes of many fans and spectators stunned by their shear talent. Rookies have managed to dominate the top 5 in league leaders in almost every stat you can think of and are showing great command of the game. The NABL's first season should just be called the Rookie Era alone.

Week 9 has past and the first ballot for American League All-Stars has been casted (will be posted after this). Before stepping into inter-league play in week ten we see the Las Vegas Wolfpack take a 10 Game lead ahead of Venom for a very nice margin going into June. Minneapolis is still a game behind the red claws looking to take the division back, while Tacoma is now struggling to hold their reign over the NL West with the Samurais and Dolphins inching ever so closely to number 1.

Inter-league play has started, and interesting developments happened. Las Vegas has managed it's self into to becoming the most dominate team in the league so far with it's amazing pitching staff and Outfielders in Anakoni Mikala and Adrian Matteo.Minneapolis has also taken back the number one spot in the AL east, while we see the Omaha Blazers slowly lose control in the central division. All while this happened Matt Cain was traded from Denver to San Antonio for Jason Bartlett both having major performances in this point of the season so it seems to be a fair trade off.

Amateur Draft started today, and ESPN decided to fill you in on some of the players to watch out for.

Dakota Mills (Richmond)
Position: Pitcher
Age:22
B/T:L/L
Potential:***
College:North Carolina
Dakota Mills will defiantly be the more sought after pitchers with in respects to the draft. He was first team All-American and Winner of the Baseball America Player of the year during his senior season. He has by far some of the best breaking balls of any prospect, and has the speed in his fast ball to make his off-speed more affective. Expect him to go to the pros in around 2-3 Years.

Sergio Rottino (Utah)
Position: Pitcher
Age: 21
B/T:S/L
Potential:***
College:Florida
Sergio has the making to be a very successful relief pitcher in the majors. He has the necessary speed to be a Joel Zumaya or Frenando Rodney, but lacks the off-speed to follow up his potent fastball.

Austin Piersoll (Pawtucket)
Position: Pitcher
Age: 25
B/T: S/L
Potential:***
Team: Frontier League (Florence Freedom)
Austin is obviously much older then all the other prospects with in the draft which is a problem for growth, but he does have the same relative skills as Dakota Mills. The major question is how fast will he improve to become a NABL professional.

Verol Dirosa (Louisville)
Posistion:Catcher
Age:22
B/T:R/R
Potential:*****
College:Texas
Verol is a very raw talent but can easily grow into star under the right farm system. Hopefully we see him in the pros around 2010-2011 Season.

Kaleab Meyers (Iowa City)
Position:Thrid Base
Age:21
B/T:L/R
Potential:***
College:Illinois
Meyers by far is one of the best power hitters with in the draft. he resembles the skill set of a First basemen due to his lack of fielding ability, but ethier way he will be a sought after draft pick.

Kevin Smitherma (Las Vegas)
Position: Short Stop
Age: 19
B/T:S/R
Potential:*****
High School: Tullahoma (TN)
Kevin is by far one of the best all round prospects in the draft. Smitherma is well versed at all parts of the game and baseball. Expect him to be a future star in the NABL.

Noah Vermilyea (Minneapolis)
Position: Shortstop
Age: 19
B/T:R/R
Potential:***
High School: St Xavier (KY)
Noah is around the same level of skill as Kevin Smitherma is but he doesn't square up with the ball as much as Kevin does. Sure he's behind Smitherma but the talent in majority is still there.

Troy Lambin (Tacoma)
Position: Right Field
Age: 19
B/T: S/L
Potential: ***
College: UCLA
Troy is very talented athletically, not a 5 tool player but if he could improve he's fielding he would be. There not much of downside to Lambin outside of the fielding, but overall he would be a good pick up for any team.

Blake Barnwell (Denver)
Position: CenterField
Age: 22
B/T: R/R
Potential:***
College: Clemson
Barnwell is defensive phenomena, His range and Arm are by far one of the best seen in the draft. Improvements on his batting will be necessary to become successful and the Major League level, but he has the time so it shouldn't be a problem

Foxburough has made a enormous leap to first place over the Durham Cowboys in the NL west.
