Okay, so this is the first time I am participating in a one player game thing either way around. I hope it's in the right forum. Anyway, I'd just like to say this is 't going to be a one player game where the options are just "Swing at curveball, don't swing at curveball, throw a strike" and all that. Also, you won't be a guy trying out for your high school team. The story is that you were one of the most highly anticipated rookies coming out of high school, but for a multitude of reasons you just haven't broken into the big leagues yet. You'll be turning 28 soon and that's ever so close to the dreaded number 30. Anyway,

Name:
Position:
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Interests:
Short bio: (keep to the whole highly anticipate rookie thing)
Pick an MLB team or whatever double A team you want, either way you'll start in double A

Also, I would say whoever comments first, but I'd like to have someone who hasn't gotten to do a one player game yet.

Wait, why isn't PP27 taking it?

welp, anyway:

Name: Matt Lynch
Position: Outfield
Strengths: Power, speed (Was expected to be a 30/30 guy when he was younger)
Weaknesses: Plate vision/discipline, curveballs
Interests: Football (Bengals fan), bowling, golf
Long bio:

Born at 12:00 am on January 1st of 1985, Matt Lynch has always been number one. He excelled in both athletics and academics all throughout his childhood, always outperforming his older brother Ryan, much to the latter's displeasure. After wonderful four years playing varsity baseball, Lynch was drafted straight out of high school by the Pirates in 2003, expected to quickly rise to the top of the league and stay there for decades. In his first season in short season A, he batted .426 with 18 home runs and 12 stolen bases in just over 100 games. In 2004, he was moved up to AA and batted .318 with 26 home runs and 21 stole bases. Slated for a 2005 Opening Day debut, Matt was on top of the world.

Having completely bypassed AAA, Matt traveled to Bradenton, Florida for Spring Training in February of 2005. There, he impressed his coaches at first, but ultimately struggled throughout March, finishing the Spring with a .212 average and just 1 home run and 2 steals in 66 at-bats. Still, he was able to make the 25-man roster of the struggling Pirates, starting as the team's fourth outfielder.

(Can I have him having previously made his debut? If not, disregard the following and make up some Spring Training injury.)

After a few pinch hit appearances (in which he went 0 for 3), Matt made his real debut on April 13th, 2005 in a game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Playing left field, Matt grounded out and flew out in his first two at-bats before, in the bottom of the sixth, Brewers first baseman Lyle Overbay hit a fly ball to deep center field. Maybe it was the adrenaline, maybe it was nerves. Whatever the cause, Matt rushed back with every intention to make the catch. Crowds both at Miller Park and at home watched as Matt completely disregarded the shift from grass to dirt and collided, full speed, with the center field wall. The ball went over the fence; Matt fell to the ground.

Placed on the 15-day DL with a severe concussion, Matt claimed to be fine after just two days and was anxious to return to the field. While he was out, however, the Pirates replaced him with Chris Duffy. Duffy excelled in the role, batting .378 during Matt's absence. Thus, when the 15 days were up, Matt was sent to AAA. Team staff assured him he could earn the spot back with performance, but Matt was never the same after that concussion. His previously excellent defense dropped off significantly, and his hitting numbers completely fell. Over the next two years, he batted .246 with 20 home runs and 15 steals in AAA. He was cut by the Pirates following 2006, then signed to a two-year deal by the Indians. For the next four years, he bounced around from AAA team to AAA team, being trade twice and signed thrice. Over those four years, he batted .255 with 39 home runs and 46 stolen bases, mostly playing center or left. After a particularly disappointing season for the Oklahoma City RedHawks in 2010, Matt was jobless, poor, and without a college education. With an age of almost 26 and a career batting average of .000, he had lost his prospect status and was officially a bust. Meanwhile, during all this, his older brother Ryan had finished college and signed on with the Los Angeles Dodgers, breaking into the majors in 2007 at the age of 24, becoming a consistently respectable middle reliever.

Now, Ryan Lynch had always someone resented his younger brother's success, but seeing him broken down and defeated was something he couldn't handle. He took a chance and went to the Dodgers GM in the winter of 2011 to see if they had a spot for Matthew.

Eight days later, he was offered a contract. Ryan never told his brother why.

In 2011, Matt batted a solid .277 for the AA Lookouts. In 2012, he did about the same. The grind of minor league baseball was tough on him, but having skipped college, he was left without any other options. So, when it came time to renew his contract for 2013, Matt obliged. He hasn't given up on his goal of becoming a major leaguer, but baseball is now a career, not a dream.

Team: Dodgers

Well... I think I'm doing it.

I certainly hope so, after I wrote that long-ass bio :P

Dude, you put more effort into that bio than I put into most of my school work. :P

I might get and update in late tonight, but it'll probably be tomorrow afternoon.

No problem, bro. I enjoyed reading it. But if I contradict things in the process of this game just remind me or whatever.

My only request is that Ryan be included somewhat (mostly if I get the the majors). Other than that, not much to be contradicted besides that he's 0-5 in his MLB career.

sorry for my lateness. I'm going to finish typing it up later, but I think I need to read through some other one player games first. It's pretty rough so far.
