I'm liking the log so far, Brewers. I'll also cast a vote for Padres.

Thanks. :) So far it looks like I'll be doing the Padres game. Which is strange, I didn't expect to see any votes for them.

They're my second favorite team, so that's why I voted for them.

The Milwaukee Brewers took 2 out of 3 games from the Chicago Cubs, in a series played at Miller Park.

Game 1: The Brewers were shut out in a 0-15 disaster. Gallardo allowed 1 earned, but 4 unearned runs, and Badenhop + Kintzler combined for 8 ER in 1.2 IP. The offense mustered nothing against Edwin Jackson.
Game 2: Milwaukee bounced back for a 5-1 win. Lohse went 8 innings, only allowing 3 hits and struck out 6. Braun was 3-3, with a walk and 4 runs scored. Lucroy had 3 RBI's.
Game 3: Gomez hit a solo homer in the 2nd, and Davis hit a 3 run homer in the 3rd to lead the Brewers to a 4-3 victory. Fiers pitched 7 strong innings, only allowing 2 runs.

Not much changed in the divisional picture, the Brewers still hold a 1 1/2 game lead.

The Brewers head out west now, for a 1 week trip to California. First up on the trip are the San Diego Padres.

April 22nd, 2013- The Brewers opened a series at the Padres last night, looking to keep their NL Central lead. Wily Peralta was pitching for the Brewers, and he started off ice cold, loading the bases in the 1st without registering an out. He got Jedd Gyorko to ground into a double play though, but Everth Cabrera scored and gave the Padres a 1-0 lead. Yonder Alonso followed with an RBI single to right. The Brewers were quick to hop on the board after that though, with Ramirez scoring in the 2nd on a Segura RBI single. The Padres loaded the bases again in the 2nd, but were unable to increase their 2-1 lead. They did score in the 3rd though, on a solo homer by Gyorko. In the 6th inning, Braun had an answer, and hit his 3rd homer of the year to left field. That made the score 2-3, Padres still ahead. San Diego scored 2 more in the 6th, with RBI singles by Denorfia and Hundley, extending their lead to 3. Lucroy narrowed the lead to 2 with a solo homer in the 7th, his 5th of the year. Khris Davis doubled in the 9th, but Huston Street struck out Carlos Gomez to end the game. Eric Stults struck out 7 in 8 innings pitched, allowing 3 runs and earning player of the game honors.

Injury Update
April 24th, 2013- Rickie Weeks has recovered from his hamstring injury, and was sent to Nashville to play a few rehab games with the Sounds before rejoining the big league club. Ron Roenicke has said that he has been impressed with Scooter Gennett's play(.306 BA thru 19 games) in Weeks's absence. GM Kilian Boland expects Jeff Bianchi to be demoted to AAA when Weeks is ready to return, and Weeks will split time with Scooter at second base.

The Brewers were only able to muster 1 win in 3 games against the San Diego Padres.

Game 1: Wily Peralta allowed 4 runs in 5 innings pitched, in a 3-5 loss. Lucroy and Ramirez were both 2-4.
Game 2: Gallardo allowed only 1 run in 7 innings, and struck out 9. Braun was 2-3 with a run, in a 3-1 win.
Game 3: The Brewers could only scratch up 2 hits against Edison Volquez, who pitched 7 innings in a shutout win for the Padres. Ramirez was 1-2 with 2 walks in a 0-6 loss.

The Cardinals moved into the second wild card spot, putting an NL Central team in both wild card positions. The Brewers held onto a 1 game lead over the Reds.

The Brewers face another NL West opponent next. They are only 6-6 against this division, while going 8-1 against their own NL Central. Luckily, it looks like the Brewers will avoid having to face L.A. ace Clayton Kershaw in this series.
