Here is Lou Gherig's password. I need a response before I decide to redo him or not.
He has A (247) power, B contact, D+ run speed, and Cs and Ds for all fielding. His fielding ratings should all be better and be Bs/As. He has consistency 4, durability 4, power hitter, clutch hitter, base running 4, and rally hitter. I was out of practice when I made this guy, it's been so long since I last played.

We should try to remake him. His fielding stats shoudl be slightly better.

Ok. Let's establish his exact stats before making him. To be honest, I didn't reload on this guy once besides injuries and particularly bad and annoying events (like losing my clutch hitting ability the week after I got it), so even though I'm out of practice, I think I can make one much better. Here's my idea.
These are the stats I've given him. If you disagree on one, please read my reasoning for it below and then tell me why I should change it (When there is a / because I'm not sure which one of the choices I would choose, the first put is always more likely)
Quick Stats:
Trajectory: 3
Power: A 140-145
Contact: A-
Speed: D+ (With Stealing 2 Red Ability)
Arm Strength: D+/C
Fielding: B+/B
Error Resistance: A-/B+
Trajectory: 3
Power:
A 140-145
Why is power so high? Well, Lou Gherig like Babe Ruth was one of the only guys to really hit home runs in an era where the game was transforming from the cutting and slashing techniques of Ty Cobb to the home-run hitting of Babe and the Buster (Babe and Lou Gherig). They led the way out of the deadball era (we might still be in it without the Yankees). Plus, Lou Gherig would have had 550-600 home runs if he never got Lou Gherig's disease and not only died near what would have been his prime (and so early in his life), but also had the last 2 years of his career ruined as he played terribly and lost all his muscle. So, I say give him 140-145 power for doing what no one else but the guy batting before him could do.
Contact:
A-,he did hit 340 his whole career. Take out the last 2 years because of ASL's (Lou Gherig's disease) affect and his average is .346 with only 1 year (his rookie year) that he didn't hit 300+. Wow, imagine someone doing that today! I think he might have the third or fourth highest batting average of all time behind Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth. He even hit 500 one year (12 at bats, but still haha)
Run Speed:
D+ with Stealing 2
He did steal 102 bases and get caught 101 times, but he was still above average in speed. I'm re-reading a book on Lou Gherig and he definetly wasn't slow, he just tried to steal bases way too much (and not too often). He'd also try to go for the extra base too much, but not enough that we should count it for anything. I say D+ with Stealing 2.
Arm Strength:
When Lou Gherig began playing baseball, he was incredibly clumsy. Still, the hardest working player to ever play the game worked an insane amount on fielding and a few years in, he was a golden-glover. Even still, he had a incredible .992 fielding percentage. He also had very good acuracy with his arm. As he is a first basemen, I say give him a C or D+ for arm and accuracy 4.
Fielding:
For reasons I said before, I say give him a B or B+
Error Resistance:
I am going to give him a A- or B+ as he only had 8 error in one year when his fielding was at its best.

For abilities, I say Clutch 5, Power Hitter, Contact Hitter, Ralley Hitter, Bases Clearer, Good B2B Hitter, Gold Glover, Tough Out, Refined (447 on base percentage), push hitter, spray hitter, consistency and durability 4. Are there any others I'm missing for him?
I purposely left out star as he was always uncomfortable with the media and was never popular. He was always under-rated as a player and probably would be still if he never made his Luckiest Man Speech. He was always in Ruth's shadow.

OK first of all, 140-145 pwr is low B. I think you mean 240-245.

While I am as much a Lou Gehrig fan as anybody, these are my suggestions:
On the topic of power, your argument is not exactly accurate. Remember, it's true that Ruth led the way to the Lively Ball Era, but also, Lou Gehrig was almost the same age as Jimmy Foxx, Al Simmons, Rogers Hornsby, etc., wouldn't these players be considered "Home-Run Pioneers", too? I would say 230 power is generous, my suggestion is 225 (which is about as much as A-Rod). Or, something interesting might be to give him maxed power but 2 traj, as he was known for his line drive shots.

I think that you could leave the Stealing ability alone, and instead give him aggressive steal and aggressive run. 9 speed sounds fine to me.

As for abilities, I'm sure you're missing something, I don't have my Wii now so I can't say specifics... why not give him Pivot Man just for fun?

Pivot Man sounds good. About the power, Lou Gherig was about 3 years before Jimmy Foxx, All Simmons, and Roger Hornsby. Jimmy Fox I know didn't start really hitting them till 2 or 3 years later, the rest I don't know. 2 Trajectory might be right, but maxed power isn't. Maxed Power is soley for Ruth. I'll look into the trajectory thing. He has more power then A-Rod considering the time period and the fact that his conditioning was nothing like A-Rods as back then, they didn't know the right techniques to condition themselves. If he keeps trajectory 3, I'm willing to go down to 235 (right now, I might be convinced other wise), but probably no lower. That would be the second highest on the team, I think. How does that sound?
I'll also look into what others hit at the time.

I know this is random, but my expansion team is almost done. My second baseman is only slightly above average and is in My Life (made soley in My Life). He almost has a big enough wallet to get the gold mirror. My Short Stop will be taken from My Life by next week as hes 2-3 power points from where I want him to be and he has every piece of training equipment so its not hard to train him. After that, I have a player in every position and just need 2 more starters and a back up first basemen, reliever starter, infielder, and outfielder. I can start without the back-ups.

1. about the power, 235-240 and 3 trj is agreeable.

2. you know that it's the silver mirror, not the fake gold one, right?

Also, can you try to make the picture bigger? It's kinda small and hard to read. Good thing with the colors, eh?

I don't have a camera, I just use my cell. I'll try and lower th equality while raising the light and see if it works. I'll try some other things too.

For Lou Gehrig, most of what you have looks good. I would . . .

Add:

- Bases Clearer (Homers Often) – You already have Bases Clearer listed, but Gehrig has the MLB record for most career GS’s. Just wanted to make sure it was of the Homer Often variety.

- Gd Eye - His BB/K ratio of nearly 2-1 translates to Gd Eye in addition to Tough Out, etc.

- Table Setter - When a hitter carries an OBP .100 points above his AVG, regardless of how high or low his AVG is or if he’s a leadoff hitter, that player deserves Table Setter.

- Star – He was overshadowed by Ruth, but who wasn’t? Gehrig was a superstar than and now.

- Hot Zones - Pitchers considered him a low-ball hitter, so his hot zones should be low. There is also footage of Gerhig hammering high fastballs for linedrive homeruns to RF so, perhaps a happy zone in the center and middle-high would be apt as well (altogether, like an upside-down T).

Subtract:

- Trajectory from 3 to 2 – Players who squared off against Gehrig recall his vicious line drives above all else. A few quotes from writers and players:
--- “Unlike Ruth’s log, graceful swing, which drove the ball hard, high, and far, Gehrig’s swing was more of a savage attack on the ball and produced line-drive homeruns.”
--- “Ruth had that uppercut swing. The only thing he’d hit hard would be be up in the air. But Gehrig? He’d hammer ‘em. His line drives would knock your legs off.”
--- “Lou hit smashes in all directions. He hit them as hard and as far to left as to right. I’ve never seen anyone hit line drives like that.”
If you have to increase his power to make up for the lower trajectory, I think it would be worth it.

- Basestealing – You already mentioned it, but a SB% of 50% is horrible. Make his basestealing as low as possible.

- Push Hitter - For whatever reason, it becomes tough to pull the baseball with Push Hitter even when you pair it with Spray Hitter. Gehrig was known for hitting “screamers in all directions” so Spray Hitter should be enough.

- Gold Glover - Gehrig had decent range but made a lot of errors for a 1B. If you want to see a borderline Gold Glove 1B, check out Mark Teixeira. The two men had similar range (Gehrig and Albert Pujols actually have identical range scores at 1B; they are a bit faster than Teixeira), but Teixeira’s glovework is airtight and he makes accurate throws all over the diamond. Since 2005, Teixeira has averaged 4.25 errors per season while carrying a Fld% of .997. Gehrig averaged 13.4 errors per season and finished his career with a Fld% of .991, which put him right at league average for his era (.990) but well below league average for today’s game (.994). It’s rare to see any 1B make 13+ errors in a season. Ryan Howard and Price Fielder are the only two 1B who have done it more than once since 2000. Gehrig did it 10 times in his career. So I guess Gehrig’s defense will depend on the context you are making him: comparable to his era (excellent range, average glove/arm/ERES) or comparable to today’s players (good range, terrible glove/arm/ERES).

Very good analysis. Gold Glover I might want to get rid of, but its so easy to get through events that I won't avoid it or go for it. If I have some points left over, you never know.
About star, Lou Gherig was known for being remarkably shy and uncomfortable around the media. It's not just that he was over shawdowed, but that he had no idea how to deal with fans for all but the very end of his career. The only time he was really that popular was after his "Luckiest Man" speech, in which he became much more liked. I mean fans loved to have him on their team, but they didn't love him like they loved Ruth. So I wouldn't give him star. Plus it's such a useless ability and its so out of the way.

It's hard to date Emily and make a guy this good, so I think no Star is commendable. Besides, most of these guys will have Star since they're all good players, so we should try to cut down. Anybody trying to use this team in Season will have a high payroll, so we should do what we can.
